The primary function of the Team Lead is the overall management of the operations for their designated team. This includes providing leadership, coaching, training, and mentoring to their team, and to ensure all critical aspects of department issues are met and resolved appropriately. The Team Lead will meet with and provide coaching and feedback to their employees around areas of improvement and identify areas of success. The Team Lead will be instrumental in assisting management by providing feedback on staff performance, client issues, and actions to be taken to improve the department and maintain success. The Team Lead must be able to identify and effectively communicate areas of training improvements and common performance deficits as well as offer praise and positive promotion of a job well done.
Reports To: Manager Support
•Supervising the work of their assigned group on a day-to-day basis which may include delegation of work assignments to various team members
•Drive team members to achieve department goals
•Positively and effectively handle escalated issues from customers or internal teams in a collaborative "win-win" approach
•Act as a liaison to other groups and departments to support team initiatives
•Provide training to new and current employees and/or coordinate training with department trainer
•Perform code reviews. Provide critical feedback to programmers on their code and provide feedback to management
•Perform regularly scheduled one-on ones with designated team
•Monitor, report on, and develop action plans to improve team or individual performance
•Help management develop performance goals and feedback for team members and participate in performance evaluations
•Are expected to provide input and recommendations to managers in the areas of performance management, promotional/raise opportunities, employee terminations and performance issues which are generally followed by the manager
•Help management identify and interview possible candidates when hiring
•Maintain department documentation and templates
•Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, benchmarking best practices, participating in professional societies
•Subject matter expert in key areas of their department
•Attend knowledge transfer sessions for the software releases and pass on the knowledge to the team. •Involved with testing during software releases
•Assist with technical issues such as environment/deployment issues
•Develop Custom and Standard solutions for various Paylocity products
•Ability to demonstrate experience taking an ownership role in group responsibilities
•At least 2 years of experience in manager, lead or mentor positions required
•At least 2 years of experience in Payroll and HR industry is required
•Highly proficient in SQL Server
•Highly proficient in SQL Server Reporting Services
•Strong knowledge of relational database software
•Experience gathering requirements directly from end users.
•Experience in customer facing situation
Additional criteria for General Ledger:
•Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience
Additional criteria for Custom Reports:
•Bachelor's degree preferred Computer Science, CIS, MIS or equivalent work experience
Additional criteria for Custom Calculations:
•Experience with Paylocity's Web Pay product strongly preferred
•Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience

This role can be performed from any office in the US. The pay range for this position in Colorado is $78,366 - $111,383 /year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position offers a comprehensive variable compensation package, in addition to a full range of benefits outlined here. This information is provided per the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act.
