As an onsite Lead Recruiter/Program Manager for Johnson Controls, you'll be part of our diverse distributed team making an impact on our organization by recruiting and leading our staffing program to meet hiring goals at our Wichita, KS plant. You will implement strategies that help get results and improve partnership with the business. Join us & help us continue to inspire change and secure the most promising talent for JCI.

In this role, you will lead the overall recruitment and hiring strategies that are aligned to support our growing plant operations. You will develop positive relationships with our plant hiring managers through face to face and virtual meetings. As the TA partner dedicated to our salaried, exempt level hiring you will be a hands-on recruiter, working to attract talent to our team via various recruiting approaches and will own the start to finish recruiting process to hire world-class talent for our team. In addition to standard recruitment job duties, you will lead the program that supports our salaried hiring initiatives. As the main point of contact for all things req/hiring related at our plant, you will help deliver results and define programs that support the team. Additionally, you will now, or in the future, have the opportunity to mentor additional teammates within the COE (Center or Excellence).

How you will do it

  • Partners with Plant HR Leader and Business leaders to deliver on both short-term and long-term hiring plans to meet business growth and needs.
  • Lead recruiting programs that offer a new approach to how we find new talent for our team (military, emerging, intern and/or technical trainee, etc.)
  • Champion targeted recruitment campaigns for plant salaried hiring needs that can help deliver high quality talent to meet the hiring plans and performance metrics
  • Performs all recruitment duties associated with hiring from position launch through offering/onboarding candidates into approved positions.
  • Program Manager of the overall req management process for the plant salaried positions including but not limited to the following:
    • Assist with RTH creation, as needed
    • As mentioned above, cradle to grave recruitment responsibilities
    • Interview scheduling and facilitation
    • Hiring Manager debrief (virtual, phone and/or in person) and coordination
    • Req Management adjustments (job changes, grade changes - HR Information Systems oriented)
    • Reporting out on metrics and stats (time to fill, time in stage, etc.)
  • Identifies bottlenecks/challenges and offers solutions to address concerns and drive hiring activity towards better outcomes
  • Follows established policies and procedures, EEO guidelines, and sound human resources practices.



What we look for

  • Bachelors' degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or equivalent
  • Minimum of six years of relevant recruitment experience
  • Experience leading or running TA activities
  • Strategic recruiter that has experience in fast paced, performance driven setting that requires adaptability
  • Demonstrated with computer related recruitment tools & preferred experience with Excel, specifically pivot tables
  • Demonstrable track record of guiding recruitment process to business partners
  • Demonstrated leadership & program management skills
  • Strong conceptual, creative and communication abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization
