As a Lead Compensation Consultant (Short-term Incentive Plans), you will be responsible for designing, implementing and managing short-term incentive (bonus) plans that help Target attract and retain top talent. You will be responsible for building relationships across HR, Finance and Legal teams to support the planning and execution of your work. Some core responsibilities include:

  • Design, implement, and manage short-term incentive plans that reward team members for Target's performance and their personal performance in a market competitive manner
  • Measure the effectiveness of short-term incentive programs to ensure organizational objectives are being met. Provide resulting recommendations to Compensation leadership to change or enhance programs
  • Lead Target's annual bonus program execution including accrual forecasting and management in partnership with Finance
  • Consult with Target subsidiaries on the design and execution of their short-term incentive plans
  • Lead and manage retention programs that enable Target to retain top talent
  • Create and foster ongoing partnerships with Human Resources, Legal, Tax and Finance teams, as well as numerous external partners, to identify and resolve compensation issues
  • Participate in market research and analysis to establish competitive pay programs within our markets. Recommend programs and systems that recognize and incent performance, help to retain team members and ensure internal consistency
  • Conduct or contribute to special projects as requested or needed


Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5-7 years Compensation/Human Resource experience
  • Strong financial acumen and/or previous experience in a Finance or Accounting role
  • Leadership abilities
  • Effectively presents ideas to all levels
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to partner across teams and levels
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate key issues and problems
  • Possess a high level of initiative

This position may be considered for a Full-Time Remote or Hybrid work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Hybrid work arrangement means the team members core role will be a blend of virtual and onsite at a Target location. A Full-Time Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that's not a Target location, does not have a desk at their primary HQ work location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year.
Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada residents is $85,400-$153,700 . Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, Target cares about and invests in you as a team member, so that you can take care of yourself and your family.
