GDIT is seeking an Information Systems Manager who will be responsible for leading the team executing on the operations and maintenance of GDIT's Human Capital Management (HCM) systems, primarily Workday. This leader also collaborates with the team's Director, other peer team leads, company leadership and the business community to continuously plan, define and adjust the roadmap for HCM overall, with a focus on features and functions that align with business strategy and provide value for our customers.

This role offers remote flexibility with the expectation the selected candidate will come to a GDIT office (if you reside within 15 to 20 miles) at least two (2) days per work month (hybrid); occasional travel to GDIT sites may be required.

  • Manage the analysis, development, implementation, enhancement, administration and ongoing operation of HCM applications and services, with a focus on Workday Core HCM (non-recruiting)
  • Develop effective relationships with key stakeholders, and establish self as a trusted partner and advisor through superior and dependable delivery and contributions
  • Support the developing request intake process, and team with others to review and prioritize; assign approved tasks to direct reports based on skill and availability.
  • Keep well-informed of leading industry trends, best practices and new technologies, including Workday features and functionality
  • Foster collaboration and engagement among all HCM system analysts, including Workday Recruiting support
  • Oversee the activities of direct reports (6+)to ensure a high performing, well-motivated and developed team which delivers required results
  • Ensure quality assurance testing of changes/enhancements prior to implementation
  • Lead the team through day-to-day operations oversight, status reports and escalates issues as needed
  • Ensure that deviations from plans are brought to the early attention of management and corrective action is taken
  • Participate in and lead special projects, as required
  • Responsible for various staff functions including performance reviews, goal setting, merit recommendations, training plans, promotions, transfers and hiring
  • Manage support coverage and vacation schedules


Education & Experience

  • 5+ years of related HCM experience, particularly Workday
  • People management experience; at least 2+ years leading a small team
  • HR business experience in other aspects of the HR systems portfolio; Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Learning Management, Performance Management, Talent Management, etc.

  • Work hours may include meetings scheduled outside of normal working hours. Demands during peak times may require work hours outside of normal working hours.
  • Experience with business and systems analysis and design methodologies and tools, and with large and complex systems
  • Understanding of standard project methodologies regarding project initiation, current state analysis, future state design, implementation, and project transition/close
  • Flexibility to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity, and rapid change
  • Strong people management skills
