Human Resources Business Partner
The Opportunity *This is a fully remote opportunity*
The Human Resources Business Partner proactively supports the delivery of HR processes to the business unit and acts as a single point of contact for employees and managers for employee relations situations.
- Acts as Employee Relations subject matter expert to the assigned business unit(s).
- Aids business leaders when making decisions on talent management strategies.
- Acts as the performance improvement driver and encourages positive changes in people management through Performance Improvement plans or Performance Development documentation.
- Partners with Recruitment team to provide support and guidance to business leaders regarding organizational design.
- Educates managers and enforces matters of employment law and policy interpretation.
- Analyzes, forecasts and prepares assigned business leaders for all employment activities including new roles, promotions, and terminations.
- Conducts exit interviews and provides analysis of findings.
- Encourages employee engagement and supports employee retention strategies.
- Analyzes and presents risk factors to members of senior leadership when taking tangible employment actions. Ensuring appropriate processes are followed and compliance with local and federal regulations.
- Provides expertise in conducting internal investigations and brings employment relation issues to resolution.
- Supports company-wide Human Resources management initiatives as assigned.
- Acts as liaison with other departments including the Legal, Recruitment, and Payroll teams.
- Other duties as assigned.
What you will need to be successful
- Adhere to Berkadia’s policies and exhibit proficiency and understanding of Berkadia’s Values and position-specific skills.
- Knowledge of human resources best practices and employment law.
- Proficiency in HR Information systems, preferably ADP Workforce Now
- Advanced experience in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
- Outstanding attention to detail.
- Ability to manage expectations, informing stakeholders of potential delays due to conflicting priorities.
- Can-do, proactive attitude that can mean making suggestions and giving options rather than waiting for answers.
- Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing with all levels of an organization.
- PHR/SHRM-CP certificate preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Seven to ten years prior experience in a similar position.
