Role Summary
The incumbent is responsible, as the HR Advisor, for providing support to Divisions to help achieve their PD&T goals and foster a culture which reflects the Magna Operational Principles and the Magna Employee Charter. The incumbent will act as the HR Group Advisor working for a Director of HR.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop effective working relationships with divisional leadership teams, HR Manager, HR department personnel, Fairness Committee members, and Employee Advocate;
  • Support divisions in achieving the Cosma goals and their divisional goals to continuously improve their KPI's;
  • Assist divisions with projects or initiatives as requested;
  • Coach/Mentor Leadership;
  • Administer EOS Process including applying the survey, analyzing results, conducting team member presentations, facilitating focus groups, and monitoring action plans to target dates;
  • Assist divisions with EOS Action Plan development / Focus Group activities that support continuous improvement of employee's work life;
  • Implementation, Audit and follow up for Cosma Training Initiatives including divisional trainer support as needed;
  • Assist divisions with Mafact Assessments HR /HSE components
  • Implement and administer Targeted Recruitment for Key Leadership Positions;
  • Ensure successful implementation of the Succession Planning initiatives;
  • Maintain relationships with participants of Cosma's developmental programs such as the Mentoring Program, Leading Forward and Press Shop Leader Program;
  • Continuously imprinting Charter Vision when in the Divisions;
  • Assist startup divisions during launch to ensure employees and management are "Magnatized", "Cosmatized" and Magna Best in Class policies are implemented;
  • Attend meetings/workshops with Group/Divisional/Corporate management as required
  • Respond to day-to-day divisional inquiries;
  • Audit HR Departments on Cosma/Magna measurables (HRCIA Audits);
  • Act as another avenue in the Open Door Process;
  • Attend employee meetings at divisions;
  • Conduct the responsibilities in a professional and confidential manner, reflecting Magna and Cosma's culture at all times;
  • Being an ambassador of the Magna Culture in every interaction with the divisions, groups and Magna;
  • Travel is a requirement of this position. During busy times of the year up to 80% of travel will be required you must be flexible to travel.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/Experience

  • 5 Years Experience in Manufacturing, under a Human Resources role. 3+ years of experience in Human Resource Management an asset;
  • Post-Secondary Education in Human Resources or related courses/program; Certified Human Resources Management Certificate/ C.H.R.P/ S.H.R.M. an asset;
  • Experience and thorough understanding of the Magna Employee Relations Programs;
  • Demonstrated ability to lead/facilitate teams through strong communication skills and proven results;
  • Ability to perform public speaking;
  • Ability to effectively train team members and leadership groups;
  • Fluent in English; other languages an asset;
  • Ability to travel;
  • Proficient computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Action Linx, People Soft, Web Based HR Applications);

Physical Demands

  • Normal amount of sitting or standing, average mobility to move around an office environment, able to conduct normal amount of work at a computer, may require local travel.
  • Business travel is a requirement of this position, within and outside of core working hours
