Job Description

Are you ready to lead an HR Generalist team as you support critical HR functions such as Leaves Management, Time Keeping, Onboarding/Offboarding and Data Entry/Integrity? Advance Local, one of the largest media groups in the United States, is seeking a Human Resources Manager to be part of our client-centric Generalist team. Remotely or in person, you will handle a variety of HR responsibilities focusing on consistency and continuous improvement.

In this position, as a Human Resources Manager- Generalist Team, you will:

  • Proactively manage and develop the generalist team, identifying opportunities and implementing appropriate solutions.
  • Administer Company leaves and disability for employees in multiple states, maintaining accurate records while ensuring compliance with all Federal and State laws, as well as Company-specific leave programs.
  • Manage the generalist team to ensure accurate, detailed, and timely HR data entry.
  • Ensure proper and timely timekeeping by employees and managers.
  • Ensure and participate in new hire tasks, post-offer, orientation and onboarding.
  • Develop and implement HR projects and process improvement in support of business objectives, needs and activities.


The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or a combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 5 years Human Resources experience
  • Experience leading and developing a team
  • Experience administering multi-state employee leaves
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state and local employment laws and regulations
  • Experience in developing and implementing HR initiatives in alignment with business strategy under tight timelines
  • Able to deliver well-organized messaging, training and presentations
  • Establishes self as a credible source and upholds confidentiality
  • Professional HR certification preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint
