About You and The Role

We are looking for an experienced, dynamic HR Generalist to join our People team. In this role, you will have the exciting opportunity to manage many different areas throughout the employee lifecycle process including onboarding, benefits administration, immigration support, workers compensation and global mobility.

What You'll Do  
  • Own Employee Life Cycle changes in Zipline’s HRIS (onboarding, profile and team changes, departures, etc)
  • Maintain team member document folders in Zipline’s HRIS and compile reports as requested
  • Review, evaluate, and administer Zipline’s benefits and leaves programs in partnership with vendors, service providers and internal stakeholders
  • Manage all aspects of onboarding program, including background checks, initial outreach, new hire and benefits and Zipline systems orientation, and coordinating internally with other stakeholders such as Recruiting, IT and the People Team
  • Serve as the initial contact to the team for all inquiries regarding benefits as well as company policies, procedures, and programs
  • Partner with employees and outside counsel to provide necessary immigration support
  • Make recommendations to assist in maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefit laws and regulations
  • Maintain records and reports to conform to EEO regulations including site and corporate reporting requirements and AAP planning and reporting
  • Handle all workers compensation claims by reviewing claims, substantiating documentation, and requesting legal counsel review when necessary
  • Help facilitate internal employee exchange and global mobility programs
  • Manage our international travel insurance and security programs
What You'll Bring 
  • 2-3 years of HR Generalist and/or Coordinator experience
  • Minimum 1 year of experience managing benefits administration (directly or through a third party)
  • General knowledge of employment laws, including when to involve attorneys or internal leadership for additional support
  • Familiarity with COBRA, ERISA, FMLA and related state and federal regulations
  • Experience as key point of contact with employees and outside counsel providing immigration support
  • Organized self-starter that thrives in a fast-paced, constantly growing & evolving startup environment
  • Demonstrated ability to operate in an environment with ambiguity and change; adapting to and being a champion for positive change
  • Impeccable discretion when handling confidential or sensitive information
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Strong attention to detail and highly-organized
  • Ability to multitask and problem solve
  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of insurance regulations, plan designs and third party record keeping/administration
