Job Overview

As a strategic partner, the Human Resources Business Partner is responsible for aligning HR objectives to the business objectives and serving as an HR consultant to management on human resources-related issues. The successful HRBP will act as an employee champion and change agent. This role is responsible for assessing and anticipating HR-related needs, communicating needs proactively with our HR department and business management and developing integrated solutions. The HRBP formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflect the business objectives and HCHB's core values.

HR certification is a plus: PHR or SPHR and/or SHRM CP or SCP.

Job Description

  • Partners with executive leadership and departmental management on Human Resource related issues, including but not limited to talent acquisition, onboarding, talent development and retention, compliance, risk management, performance management, culture, and organizational excellence (structure, process and adoption).
  • Provides tactical and strategic counsel to managers on a variety of issues; promotes compliance with laws, policies and best practices to ensure fair, consistent interactions with employees.
  • Oversees the management of employee relations matters which include investigations, conflict resolution and disciplinary action (coaching/warnings/terminations) resolving in an expedient and fair manner and partnering with local HR and parent company.
  • Conducts employment interviews, new hire orientation, onboarding, post-hire reviews and exit interviews, recommending improvement for increasing employee retention.
  • Handles unemployment claims and workers compensation claims.
  • Uses best practice resources and tools to deliver and drive improvements in talent movement and retention, talent reviews, talent development, succession planning and overall organizational design.
  • Guide management and employee actions by interpreting and facilitating the practice of company policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines.
  • Create, implement and oversee HR programs to drive engagement and retention.
  • Creates, implements and tracks metrics providing analytics to measure success of HR alignment to support the business strategy.

Education Requirement(s)

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Masters degree a plus
  • PHR, SPHR or SHRM CP or SCP highly desirable
