Notarize is looking for a Head of Total Rewards and People Operations to set a bold vision for compensation and benefits, execute our HR operations roadmap and lead these functions day-to-day. Your attention to detail, drive for innovation, customer focus, and proven change management capability will enable the daily operations and the smooth implementation of new initiatives at Notarize.

You will serve as a key member of the people leadership team, owning strategic initiatives and enabling a team to enhance the employee experience and drive business results.

What you'll do as our Head of Total Rewards and People Operations:

  • Design, develop and manage all compensation and benefits programs, people operations functions and our HR tech stack.
  • Lead and administer the compensation and benefits function to ensure programs such as compensation, bonus programs, recognition, health, and wellness benefits are competitive, valued, and aligned with Notarize’s culture, business strategy and financial plans.
  • Continuously innovate our total rewards offerings to drive engagement and realize efficiency; taking into account the competitive landscape and talent market.
  • Oversee improvement of workflows and processes; drive efficiency and automation where possible.
  • Lead the Total Rewards education of the internal Notarize community; develop impactful assets to demonstrate our value proposition externally. 
  • Develop data insights to enhance strategy and impact; design and distribute reporting to share progress and key milestones to organization.
  • Partner closely with peers within human resources, adjacent functions (legal, finance, etc) and leaders across the company to develop and execute effective programs and workflows.
  • Build strong partnerships with Support our People operations team in driving solutions and meeting the needs of an ever evolving workforce.
  • Manage job leveling, salary surveys, and market analysis in order to make comprehensive recommendations. Understand current and emerging market trends to identify potential opportunities and gaps.
  • Manage and provide oversight of our benefits partner for renewal and the open enrollment process, including partnering and negotiating with external vendors, preparing communications for employees, and working with the CPO to ensure employees are well informed and engaged. 
  • Evaluate all current tools and systems to determine the best approach to scaling people processes in the direction of self-service and automation. Partner with peers to ensure systems and tools are implemented seamlessly.

What we're looking for:

  • Someone who leads with a big heart and a big brain.
  • A servant leader with a no task too small, no picture too big mindset.
  • 10+ years of relevant human resources/people operations/total rewards experience, ideally in a hyper growth technology/computer software environment.
  • 5+ years of management experience, demonstrated track record of developing, coaching, and mentoring teams.
  • Deep knowledge of solutions, systems and tools of the trade.
  • Ability to successfully perform without a net - execute in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, with limited infrastructure. 
  • Capacity to be both strategic and operational - from the visionary to the hands-on.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations with tact and diplomacy.
  • Demonstrated strength in:
  • Analytical and creative problem-solving skills that lead to quality decision making
  • Consulting and communication skills with the ability to influence and negotiate
  • Interpersonal relationship building with diverse teams; ability to support and influence leaders at all levels of the company
  • Business acumen and desire to learn the intricacies of Notarize’s business
  • Project management - well organized, plans effectively, meets deadlines and commitments
  • Storytelling - building a compelling narrative and passion for sharing the Notarize story.

How would you describe the company’s work-life balance?

Leadership makes work-life balance a priority so that employees feel comfortable doing the same, which is really refreshing and so necessary, now more than ever. For example, we’re required to take a “Pandemic Day” every month (on top of any PTO we might also take). It’s a great way to ensure we recharge at a time when burnout is real.

What's the biggest problem your team is solving?

My team has been working to enable multiple signers in different locations to sign together in the same notary meeting. It's been quite challenging to implement technically and in a legally compliant way. It's exciting to be able to offer the flexibility of signing together, apart, especially in today's increasingly remote world.
