Cision is seeking a collaborative, growth-oriented Employee Relations Partner to join our human resources team. This individual will be responsible for understanding and responding to employee needs and concerns, consulting and providing guidance to managers, and ensuring a positive, inclusive environment and equitable outcomes for all employees.


Investigatory/Advisory


· Providing thoughtful consultation to managers on performance issue management; helping them strengthen their people leadership skills to promote employee engagement and working to ensure robust and equitable outcomes

· Intake employee concerns and conduct timely, thorough investigations into a range of employee concerns, including harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and other violations of workplace rules, regulations, policies, and procedures

· Identify the root cause of concern by methodically organizing, comparing, and analyzing all aspects of a situation and environment

· Recommend equitable outcomes intended to promote a positive, inclusive environment and uphold company values

· Collaborate and effectively communicate among the team, cross-functionally, and with stakeholders at all levels of the organization

· Execute projects quickly, with strong attention to detail and follow-through


Compliance


· Apply strong knowledge of and stay current on developments related to company policies and practices and federal, state, and local employment laws, including Title VII, ADEA, FLSA, ADA

· Recommend and ensure completion of required training

Process and Innovation

· Create mechanism for analysis of casework trends and produce strategic, proactive recommendations to People team leadership and the business to address and mitigate systemic issues

· Partner with People team leadership on the creation and/or revision of people programs, policies and practices to sustain a positive work environment

· Help design and implement training based on analysis and key ER themes to build Manager capabilities

Qualifications


· Minimum 5 years of previous experience in ER positions with increasing scope of influence

· Demonstrated passion for employee relations, investigations and employment/labor law

· Strong interpersonal skills including emotional intelligence; thoughtful, thorough, and empathetic

· Strong interpersonal skills, can effectively interface and collaborate with employees at all levels of the organization

· Results-oriented; takes ownership of and drives clients and stakeholders towards an appropriate resolution of issues

· Exceptional communication in difficult situations; ability to flex intervention style based on the needs of the situation and succinctly present balanced feedback and influence stakeholders at all levels driving successful execution of resolution

· Easily identifies issues and anticipates downstream consequences; examines root cause and provides recommendations to mitigate repeat issues, as well as balance employee experience and risk to the organization

· Bilingual or multilingual verbal and written communication skills a plus

· Solid understanding of federal and state employment and labor laws

· Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related discipline with experience in Employee/Labor Relations

· Advanced degree, such as a JD, or other specialized training in employee/labor relations is a plus
