Job Details

Salesforce is looking for a Director with Employee Relations (ER), Human Resources (HR) and merger and acquisition project experience to join a dynamic high-impact Employee Relations team. This role with be responsible for post-acquisition integration-related actives of aligning systems, processes, policies, people and resources across the Salesforce ER / HR ecosystem.

The Employee Relations (ER) COE's core responsibility is to mitigate employment risk to Salesforce. The ER team provides support, expertise, education and resources, enabling managers to expand capability, and improve employee performance and engagement. Primary areas of expertise: Workplace Investigations; Involuntary Separations; Performance Improvement. As our team scales to align with the growth of the business, we have an exciting new opportunity for a Director passionate about integrating employees from merged / acquired companies within the ER function.

The Role
The Director of Employee Relations will have a global purview, develops, maintains, and continuously improves a strategy to enable the effective integration and administration of ER functions across the merged /acquired organizations. This strategy maintains compliance with regulations and formal employee agreements while using data analytics and insights to drive proactive ER solutions throughout the organization.

Key Focus Areas
Conducting investigations, case data management, delivery of ER onboarding for acquired employees, integration communications, reporting and project management, employee relations Vice President and above executive level investigations. This role will collaborate cross-functionally with HR teams and the business to ensure relevant/accurate integration solutions can be operationalized and scale.

Required Traits & Competencies:

  • Conduct high-risk/high-profile VP + investigations and respond to executive escalations
  • Strong technical/ analytical skills with an ability to interpret data to share ER stories
  • Respond to inquiries that require deep subject matter expertise related to Employee Relations. This includes Investigations, policy guidance, rehire eligibility and manager coaching for culture/value violation/issues.
  • Enthusiastic teammate who encourages others, has a sense of humor, is empathetic and passionate about people
  • Strong people leader who is strategic and leads with core values, emotional intelligence and inclusivity
  • Combines critical thinking with solid operational execution while disciplined to details
  • Assess risks, spot trends and develop mitigation plans
  • Excellent communicator and strong influencer - has the ability to partner with diverse community of stakeholders at different levels within and outside of the ER / HR function
  • Demonstrated successful experience in driving large projects forward successfully to completion with formal methodologies for project and/or sprint plans.
  • Creative problem-solver who can develop thoughtful, innovative solutions to integration challenges
  • Ability to analyze difficulties in areas and processes within a cross-functional organization. Effective in implementing new and improved processes.
  • Effective working in highly matrixed organizations and in a constantly evolving work environment
  • Track record of achieving results in ambiguous situations and under pressure
  • Proficient in standard spreadsheet, presentation and collaboration tools
  • Presentation skills - ability to produce clear and concise executive summary documents and presentations that highlight status & achievements, drive discussion, summarize project details and promote brand.
  • Detail-oriented, process-driven and possess the ability to balance multiple opposing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Ability to handle change management and employee adoption across teams / organizations. Performs well under pressure and can work independently and as a part of a team.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
  • Minimum 10 years relevant work experience in Employee Relations Investigations, an HR business partner or with expertise in two or more areas of HR: compensation, benefits, operations, recruiting, talent development, change management, or communications/engagement
  • 5+ years experience in mergers & acquisitions preferred
