The Employee Experience Manager is responsible for optimizing the employees at Alation (aka “Alationaut”) experience from onboarding through full productivity, by partnering with the Executive Staff Leaders to develop impactful onboarding content, internal training programs and initiatives that reflect the company strategy and priorities. This role will report into the Head of People Operations and work cross-functionally with People Operations, as well as partnering with the HRBP team on meaningful 30/60/90 day onboarding plans and ongoing engagement activities in our employee’s life cycle.


Please note that this role is to be hired and located in our headquarter office in Redwood City, CA. and this is not a remote role.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Deliver, manage, and continuously improve the company’s corporate onboarding program for all employees worldwide
  • Collaborate across the company to ensure onboarding content remains current and meets the needs of the onboarding program
  • Roll out 30/60/90 day program with the HRBP team that helps our hiring managers create and plan out a thoughtful and thorough onboarding experience in each role
  • Define and deliver the company’s ongoing employee training and development program(s)
  • Collaborate with HRBP and People Ops to support the Performance cycle
  • Collaboratively work across the organization, leveraging experts in all functional areas, to deliver rich employee experience programs
  • Use data driven decision making to determine onboarding success for each employee and use data to make continuous improvements and iterations to the experience
  • Leverage and curate onboarding software to ensure a first class onboarding experience and follow up process that will scale with hyper growth
  • Run the quarterly employee engagement survey process, including, but not limited to survey design, feedback to organization and action plans with leaders
  • Bring best practice expertise and ideas to strengthen and improve employee programs
  • Own our Swag program from procurement to distribution 
  • Own employee recognition program from a marketing and management perspective

You Should Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field
  • 5+ years of experience in People OPS, managing complex global projects or relevant People Ops experience with extensive experience in managing complex, cross functional programs, preferably in a fast-paced, high-growth technology environment
  • Ability to listen intently to a wide variety of individuals with an open mind to ensure our onboarding experience is always continually improving
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data and be a compelling storyteller that drives action
  • Strong ability to work cross-functionally with credibility to influence decision making
  • Passion for creating programs where a recipe does not exist
  • Superb presentation skills - both rehearsed and on the fly
  • Able to adapt quickly to changing priorities in a fast paced environment
  • Have the ability to work independently and be proactive in shaping and managing the overall employee experience
  • Passionate about building an inclusive culture that is sensitive to our employees across the globe.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and in writing
  • Able to take action and follow- through on feedback and observations
