Summary of Major Responsibilities

The Employee Engagement Partner leads initiatives that drive positive impacts in employee engagement and morale while aligning with business priorities and goals. This position supports the department Associate Director in the measurement and feedback mechanisms that capture the pulse of the employee sentiment on an ongoing basis, using various tools, methods, and techniques. The Employee Engagement Partner leads high-priority engagement initiatives in collaboration with Employee Engagement Specialists and stakeholders across the organization. This includes developing and managing projects and proposals to assist the Associate Director. The Employee Engagement Partner will also take an active role in leading short-term assignments on the Engagement Team. This role may directly lead a small team of direct reports.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • In alignment with business goals, plan, drive, and manage multiple company-wide employee engagement initiatives that result in positive impact across the company and help differentiate Exact Sciences' reputation as an employer of choice.
  • Develop and execute initiatives to increase employment brand awareness both internally and externally in partnership with the HR teams, such as recruiting, HR business partners, and corporate affairs.
  • Maintain the company's engagement and Intranet content by planning curating, and/or coordinate internal communications that amplify our employer brand and our employee experience.
  • Create recruiting content for external social media channels and other digital platforms and liaise with the corporate communications team to ensure consistency and appropriate timing, source, and method.
  • Develop communication plans and content to create awareness and adoption of key employee programs, processes, benefits, events, and perks.
  • Provide consultation to various program owners on communications and change adoption.
  • Design, prepare and edit communications, presentations, and other documents in support of engagement activities or other internal communications, coordinate meetings, and events.
  • Provide leadership, expertise, and support to HR business partners, people leaders and teams to analyze survey results and define areas of focus, and to develop action plans to improve employee engagement.
  • Consult with teams both one-on-one and via focus groups and group facilitation, to help them use employee engagement data to meaningfully improve the daily work experience.
  • Lead groups of volunteer employees to support engagement initiative implementation, rollouts, and adoption activities as needed.
  • Lead short-term assignments on the engagement team.
  • Conduct best practice research on various topics related to employee engagement and prepare and present proposals for new or improved initiatives.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain multiple modes to solicit and analyze employee feedback.
  • Synthesize large amounts of quantitative and qualitative data from multiple sources to create relevant themes that can be applied organizationally.
  • Use various forms of listening, questioning, analyzing, and hypothesizing related to people, teams, data, and sentiment to understand workplace culture.
  • Identify impacts to employee, candidate, and manager experience and recommend actions of high impact using a structured approach such as behavioral economics, design thinking, user adoption, or change management.
  • Represent, participate, and support projects the engagement team, organizational development team and/or human resources function among employees, new hires, community partners, and career candidates.
  • Supervise staff; including, but not limited to, organize, and prioritize work, write/conduct performance reviews, train/develop, and manage work performance.
  • Communicate goals clearly to employees to ensure understanding and success in achieving them.
  • Motivate and inspire employees to do their best work through coaching.
  • Maintain morale and support employee engagement initiatives.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on engagement topics and initiatives.
  • Strong commitment to providing world-class customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Ability to adopt established tone, ability to distill complex content into clear, concise, and engaging communications.
  • Ability to write with speed and accuracy.
  • Strong verbal, presentation, and group facilitation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to connect with and engage audiences of differing levels.
  • Ability to effectively balance empathy and understanding with being a trusted advisor who elegantly delivers feedback with radical candor.
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply structured techniques for applying organizational behavior, user experience, process improvement, design thinking, change management, or behavioral economics techniques to improve employee experience.
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply data analytics techniques, and to spend considerable periods of time concentrating on and/or analyzing data.

  • Support and comply with the company's Quality Management System policies and procedures.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
  • Ability to act with an inclusion mindset and model these behaviors for the organization.
  • Ability to work designated schedule.
  • Ability to work nights and/or weekends, as needed.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds for approximately 2% of a typical working day.
  • Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 80% of a typical working day.
  • Considerable periods of time may be spent concentrating and/or analyzing data.
  • Ability and means to travel between Exact locations.
  • Ability to travel 10% of working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend travel.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Human Resources, Marketing, or field as outlined in the essential duties; or High School Diploma/General Education Degree (GED) and 4 years of relevant experience as outlined in the essential duties in lieu of Bachelor's Degree.
  • 5+ years of professional work experience in a HR, Organizational Development, Employee Engagement or Employee Experience role, or related industry.
  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience in a fast-paced business setting to effectively manage multiple projects and team members simultaneously within defined timelines and to effectively balance competing priorities to ensure critical business needs are met.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • 2+ years of experience in direct leadership.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in consulting with or coaching managers on how to improve employee engagement and employee experience.
  • Demonstration of strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data, identify correlations in large data sets, and visually present data in an understandable and engaging way.
  • Employee engagement initiative or program development experience.
  • Experience investigating, evaluating, and implementing new and cutting-edge techniques to facilitate communication and engagement activities.
