Diversity and Inclusion Lead
Grammarly offers a remote-first hybrid working model. Team members can work primarily remotely. Teams will meet in person every quarter in one of Grammarly’s hubs, currently in San Francisco, Vancouver, New York, and Kyiv. To ensure that teams are able to overlap in their working hours and to meet face-to-face when needed, all team members need to live within three time zones of their direct team.
Grammarly team members who will be collaborating at our San Francisco hub must be based in the United States.
The opportunity
Grammarly empowers people to thrive and connect, whenever and wherever they communicate. Every day, 30 million people and 30,000 teams around the world use our AI-powered writing assistant. All of this begins with our team collaborating in a values-driven and learning-oriented environment.
To achieve our ambitious goals, we’re looking for a Diversity and Inclusion Lead to join our Talent Management team. This person will be the driving force behind Grammarly’s diversity, inclusion, equity, and belonging initiatives, including our Circles (Employee Resource Groups). They will partner with leaders of our functions to identify and implement company-wide and function-specific initiatives. They will also work closely with our Global Head of People, Director of Talent Management, and leaders from functions across the organization to define, prioritize, and execute on projects, programs, and workstreams. The Diversity and Inclusion Lead will serve as a global point of contact for Grammarly’s team members, engaging them with our diversity and inclusion initiatives, building enthusiasm, understanding, and momentum.
Your impact
As Diversity and Inclusion Lead, you will have the opportunity for hands-on and ground-up impact, having a significant influence on Grammarly’s diversity and inclusion initiatives as we grow our global team and reach more users with our product offerings. You will be highly integrated with all the teams of our global People function as well as cross-functional partners, and you will need a strong skillset in stakeholder management, emotional intelligence, cross-cultural competence, collaboration, consulting, and relating to others similar to and different from yourself.
- Within your first 30 days, you will deep-dive on Grammarly’s EAGER values and culture and our current diversity and inclusion initiatives. You will build relationships across the organization, gaining an understanding of team members in all functions and locations. You will evaluate feedback and identify quick wins to improve inclusion, equity, and belonging.
- By month three, you will start to identify company-wide and function-specific opportunities in diversity and inclusion in partnership with our Global Head of People and function leaders. You will assume day-to-day ownership of Grammarly’s diversity and inclusion initiatives, evaluating ROI against our priorities.
- By month six, you will be standing up processes and metrics to evaluate and track our progress and get buy-in from stakeholders. You will partner with People team leadership to refine our diversity and inclusion roadmap and goals.
- By month nine, you will implement an initiative of your own conception and design related to Grammarly’s diversity and inclusion priorities.
We’re looking for someone who
- Embodies our EAGER values—is ethical, adaptable, gritty, empathetic, and remarkable.
- Has experience implementing, evaluating, and evolving diversity and inclusion initiatives that are aligned with business needs and priorities—experience implementing cross-functional or external-facing initiatives is highly desirable.
- Shows operational excellence in program and project management, breaking down lofty goals into intermediate steps, organizing workstreams, facilitating planning, managing budgets, and evaluating success.
- Demonstrates high emotional intelligence and cross-cultural competency, enabling them to understand, relate, communicate, overcome challenges, and defuse conflict.
- Builds partnerships and works collaboratively, engaging stakeholders and building relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Looks at problems or challenges from multiple perspectives, delivering thought leadership, and systems and first principles thinking.
- Loves data and metrics and wants to deep-dive into people analytics to understand internal equity, ROI, and the success of initiatives.
- Thrives at tapping into research, data, resources, and experts for insights, recommendations, and fast-track learning.
