Job Summary

The Director of Talent Management is responsible for setting global strategy and processes for talent management (TM) including driving a talent culture, talent identification, assessment, development and coaching for Eaton. TM strategy begins with identifying and analyzing organizational capability requirements currently, and in the future. This role requires the ability to effectively interface frequently with senior leaders (SLC, Director+ incumbents), plus other high potential talent on VP+ succession plans / enterprise talent.

Job Responsibilities

  • Talent Culture: defines and drives a Talent Culture, including building leader and HR capability and accountability for talent development in partnership with Learning & Culture team
  • Talent identification: designs and has ownership for a systematic approach to identify high potential and enterprise talent - definitions, processes, education, technology enablement, analytics, etc.; includes: Talent Reviews, Succession Planning, EBS roadmaps
  • Talent development: ensures a comprehensive, end-to-end development approach for high potential and enterprise talent in partnership with the Learning & Culture team; includes 70/20/10 development with an emphasis on experiential development (the 70%), e.g, operationalizing pathway roles and cross-business/cross-functional talent movement.
  • Talent Assessment: defines and has ownership for talent assessment strategy, for both selection and development; includes defining assessment requirements, approach, building internal capability and managing vendors.
  • Talent Metrics: Drives progress on key talent metrics, including (examples)
  • Increasing % of cross-segment talent moves
  • Increasing Hi Po / succession plan diversity
  • Shifting the internal/ external hire rates for senior level positions (i.e. SB13+)


The annual salary range for this role is $174,720.00- $240,240.00 a year with an annual performance-based incentive plan with a target at 28% of base salary. Qualifications

Qualifications

Education level required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Human Resources from an accredited institution.


Years and area of experience required:

  • 15 years of human resources experience, inclusive of talent management, leadership development and organization development
  • 5 years talent management or executive coaching experience.


Technical knowledge:

  • Global executive talent management expertise and a passion for building and championing strategies and related talent practices to help select, onboard, engage, retain, develop executives, and enable high performance at senior levels
  • Successful record of creating, improving, and executing large-scale programs, ability to drive and measure program effectiveness.


Soft skills:

  • Strong communication, relationship building and influencing skills
  • Ability to deal with complexity, ambiguity and to make decisions
  • Proven coaching skills.
