Accountabilities

As Director of Talent Acquisition at Stride, you will be responsible for partnering with business leadership to develop a data-informed strategy to attract and hire diverse, highly qualified talent in current and new geographic markets across the U.S. You will design a data driven and analytic approach to managing the recruiting process and provide ongoing reporting of key metrics. 

You will act as player-coach, both overseeing the recruiting team and actively participating in the full-cycle interview process. In doing so, you will prioritize quality over volume, and build strong relationships with candidates, Striders, and external partners.

This position reports to the Chief People Officer. 

Outcomes

  • A hiring forecast that informs the recruiting team’s activities to produce the target number of hires

  • Weekly and monthly dashboard with leading and lagging indicators to track performance against goals

  • Hiring needs are identified, transformed into a clear, attractive job posting, and fulfilled through strong collaboration and coordination with the hiring team 

  • Stride’s interview process continues to result in a positive candidate experience, improved pass-through rates, and the hiring of diverse, qualified, values-aligned people 

  • A diverse pipeline of candidates in key geographic locations with an offer acceptance rate above 80% and that advances diversity goals

  • A unique sourcing strategy that attracts candidates through community involvement, employee branding, and values-aligned partnerships across various geographies

  • Bottlenecks and inefficiencies are identified and resolved for reduced hiring costs, time to hire, and proper allocation of valuable resources

  • The recruiting team is sufficiently staffed, upskilled, and supported to enable achievement of goals, as well as a positive employee experience

  • Recruiting practices are operationalized to gain efficiencies that position Stride to grow and scale at a sustainable pace

  • You are seen as a trusted partner to the Leadership Team, and respected by Striders

Data-Informed Strategic Growth

  • Experience scaling a company across geographic locations, independently creating a talent acquisition strategy to hire at a pace that matches the demand

  • Can quickly ramp up and understand the fundamentals of Stride’s business, and apply that knowledge to hire diverse, capable, values-aligned candidates

  • Uses data to accurately forecast and implement strategic priorities that achieve quarterly hiring targets

  • Builds a diverse pipeline of candidates and measures impact

  • Considers solutions that satisfy long-term as well as short-term success

Operational Effectiveness & Efficiency

  • Identifies bottlenecks to operational efficiency and effectiveness, and takes initiative to resolve them in order of priority

  • Understands and defines open roles, requirements and qualifications; works with business leaders to translate opportunities into job descriptions and to prepare questions and talking points to convey to candidates

  • Proactively gets in front of high caliber, passive candidates through research, outreach, and networking

  • Provides an efficient and high-touch experience for every candidate from the application stage to offer, evaluating skill level, driving the interview process and offer process, including reference checks, salary recommendations and negotiating with candidates

  • Experience using an ATS, and building and/or pulling reports from the ATS to track progress and report on performance

  • Competent in using LinkedIn recruiter, applicant tracking software, and Google Suite products

Human-centered Recruiting Process

  • Creates an equitable and inclusive interview process and a psychologically safe environment for all candidates, removing barriers to accessibility

  • Manages the full-cycle recruiting process to deliver a positive experience for both candidates and interviewers, focusing on quality over volume

  • Sets clear expectations and communicates transparently

Expertise Recruiting Tech Consultants

  • Experience hiring software engineers, product managers, and product designers

  • Ideal candidate has a minimum of 7+ years related experience 

  • Knowledge of talent branding is a plus

Location & Travel

This position is remote-first and requires occasional travel for recruiting events, team building, and company events. Preference to hire a candidate located in the greater metro area of Atlanta.

Salary
