Director, People Systems

As Director, People Systems, you will lead and help to evolve the People Systems Strategy. You will be responsible for driving one of the most important transformation initiatives for Fastly’s People team: digital and business process transformation. You will lead a team that will own the configuration, implementation, administration, integrations, adoption, and extension of Workday. Responsibilities include oversight of the Workday roadmap, prioritization, release management and as well as the strategy and oversight for all other People Systems. You will lead a team of People Systems analysts, and partner with various People functions (e.g., Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Learning & Development, etc), Stakeholders (Finance,Payroll, Equity, IT & Business Systems) to plan and execute implementations, integrations, and configurations.

This role demands deep knowledge of Workday and other People systems, functional HR and business process knowledge, experience with enterprise-wide technology implementations, and an ability to drive successful cross-functional collaboration and communication.

What You'll Do

  • Partner with People stakeholders to strategize and develop plans for configuring and extending Workday functionality to prioritize and drive new capability
  • Lead a team or resources to configure and solution existing and new functionality to meet business objectives in Workday
  • Responsible for the end-to-end oversight (project management and change management planning and efforts) for Workday and other People System initiatives, partnering with key People and business stakeholders.
  • Own the adoption strategy and key metrics for new Workday functionality, gathering feedback and partnering with the People Operations team for enhancements to improve the employee experience
  • Engage with key cross-functional partners to review and assess downstream impacts of new configurations and process changes.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to Workday functional analysts.
  • Provide input and advice regarding Workday design/architecture decisions as well as functional or technical support where and when needed.
  • Create strong business partnerships with Business Systems to ensure seamless execution and alignment with the overarching Enterprise Architecture and processes 
  • Develop and document governance and compliance standards, including documentation of requirements, testing, and approvals.
  • Experience leading Workday implementation from engagement to delivery, coordinating internal project and external implementation resources.
  • Manage the vendor relationship with Workday and other People System partners, including participation in QBRs/annual reviews and contract renewals.

What We're Looking For

  • 10+ years of experience with HR technology platforms with a minimum of 8+ years hands-on experience designing and leading Workday initiatives, either in an in-house or consulting role.
  • 5+ years experience managing and leading, developing and scaling a high functioning team 
  • Experience leading Workday feature assessments and implementations, including project management, issue management, communications, and change management.
  • Experience in core HCM and at least working knowledge of other modules such as: time tracking, absence management, payroll, compensation, benefits, etc..
  • Experience with integrations, complex reporting, security and data architecture
  • Experience in successfully partnering with and driving cross functional teams to create a shared outcome
  • Experience leading change and process improvement initiatives. 
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. 
  •  Ability to deliver results on time with a high level of accuracy.

In accordance with applicable law, Fastly’s minimum base pay for this role if hired in Colorado is $150,000 per year. Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Fastly's equity plan. Final offer amount will be at the company’s sole discretion and determined by multiple factors, including years and depth of experience and expertise, location and other business considerations. Note that this role is available to candidates outside of Colorado and different minimum compensation may apply.
