About the Role and Your Impact

As Director, People Operations, you will be instrumental in building, scaling and supporting our People function. You will help to foster an engaged company, bolster culture, and strategize creative ways to resolve challenges in a high-growth company.

To succeed in this role you bring strong attention to detail + think strategically about the big picture and how the various details contribute to overall success. No task is too small; you have excellent judgement, impeccable integrity and feel a high-level of accountability towards team success.

Reporting to the VP, People, you will be a critical member of the extended leadership team and work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to support our 160+ person team both domestically and globally.

What You’ll Do

  • Partner with VP, People, and senior leadership to provide vision, strategic leadership, planning, and guidance for the expansion + improvement of the People Operations function
  • Implement best practices in a remote work setting to increase engagement and support ongoing rollout of policies for a global workforce
  • Provide direction, support, and supervision to People Operations employees on projects and other areas of work (e.g., handbook revision, building a comprehensive HR tech stack, reporting practices, benefits, policies/procedures)
  • Design people analytics reporting, dashboards, and creation of materials; identify actionable trends behind people data and recommend solutions
  • Provide guidance to managers, team members, and broader organization around People Operations and employment issues
  • Drive initiatives related to diversity, equity & inclusion, performance management, and learning & development in partnership with the larger People Operations team and leadership
  • Support managers around leadership, coaching, feedback, career pathing, and compliance as appropriate
  • Partner with the internal teams (e.g. Operations, IT, Finance) to influence the creation and implementation of high quality, actionable processes and ensure operational readiness based on best practices
  • Provide the broader organization knowledge, support and a continuous process improvement mindset towards all programs + processes
  • Ensure the organization develops and maintains the culture, values and direction it needs to reach its objectives while managing structural change + growth

What You’ll Bring

  • 8+ years of relevant experience in People Operations/HR in a startup environment
  • Ability to handle confidential information with the utmost sensitivity and professionalism
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with a focus on relationship building
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, startup environment
  • Strength in developing creative solutions to address scaling challenges across geographies
  • Prior experience building the People Ops function at a rapidly scaling company
  • An aptitude for identifying, attracting, and developing talent and building strong teams
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to coach, influence, and partner with various levels of employees, with high integrity
  • Superb judgment, strong organizational skills, and a sense of urgency
  • Skill in leveraging HR technology to support business decisions (our current stack: Sequoia, CultureAmp, Sapling, Workable, Remote.com, LearnUpon)
