As the Director, Human Resources, you will ensure the execution of Human Resources (HR) policies and strategic initiatives within the supported line of business, assist managers and employees with day-to-day HR activities and compliance, and work with leadership to ensure HR programs and initiatives are enhancing the delivery of business results. What you'll do on a typical day:
- Develop, implement and evaluate all HR programs and supporting systems to ensure an integrated approach to all practices, policies and procedures
- Lead the onboarding and orientation of all employees in designated offices; actively engage new employees and facilitate an understanding of the culture, ethics and expectations
- Partner with the business unit and Compensation team on the design and delivery of various compensation and incentive programs
- Provide input to the Talent Acquisition team on developing strategic workforce plans and on recruitment and retention strategies to meet the needs of the business
- Offer support in selection activities for all hourly and salaried positions and participate in the development and implementation of valid selection tools
- Design and develop an effective succession planning process to ensure management and professional readiness to meet the growth plans of the business
- Enforce a performance-driven culture through the development and implementation of consistent performance management coaching and counseling techniques
- Consult with and mentor managers on employee relations issues; ensure that appropriate corrective actions are consistently administered and provide leadership to assess, investigate, mediate and correct issues
- Partner with Training team to identify and execute relevant training initiatives; ensure availability of training and development opportunities and funding for staff
What you need to succeed at XPO:
At a minimum, you'll need:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience
- 7 years of relevant HR experience
- Proficiency with HRIS tools
It'd be great if you also have:
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, Communications or Psychology
- Professional in Human Resources (PHR), Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) or other HR certification or designation
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including planned and unplanned overtime, which may include weekends; occasional travel
