Please review the following job description:

Experienced communications professional to lead communications support for Truist Human Resources and the ongoing transformational work to attract, grow, and retain the best teammates; deliver an innovative and rewarding workplace experience; and advance diversity, equity and inclusion. This includes leading a team of senior communications managers and developing and implementing internal and external communications strategies for the businesses and functions, including internal communications, leadership message development, spokesperson training, and issues management. Provides communications counsel to executive leadership to effectively communicate key strategic priorities and issues internally as well as generate positive awareness for Truist's teammate value proposition, industry-leading Total Rewards benefit package, and commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion inside and outside of the company. Help establish and lead the vision and strategy for the Corporate Communications function as a member of the Corporate Communications Leadership Team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Collaborate with Corporate Communications Leadership team to develop corporate communications strategies, ensure alignment and implement in them in the businesses.
2. Working with key business and function leaders, lead a team of communications professionals in developing high-impact internal and external communications strategies and content to help advance the unit's broader business objectives. Oversee deliverables to ensure accuracy, clarity and quality. Develop a cohesive, resilient team that fosters leadership, prizes teamwork and rewards initiative.
3. Work with media relations team to mitigate issues in the media, often working with operations or counseling leaders on announcements or containment strategies.
4. Create opportunities to secure positive news and manage media and PR relationships to build the organization's reputation, the company's brand and promote our solutions and services.
5. Provide communications counsel to senior leaders and others. Serve as a resource for complex solutions to communications issues.
6. Develop thought leadership and executive visibility strategy including internal teammate engagements and external thought leadership opportunities.
7. Identify and resolve technical, operational, risk management, business, and organizational challenges, and establish long-term solutions for continuous improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree and fifteen years of communications experience, or equivalent education and related training or experience
2. Experience supporting the communication needs of C-level executives
3. Ability to collaborate, negotiate with and influence peers and senior leaders
4. Strong leadership skills, excel at building relationships and problem solving
5. Ability to lead large highly complex projects of notable risk exposure
6. Strong writing skills and news judgment
7. Experience leading a team of professional-level contributors
8. Knowledge of the industry's competitive landscape and awareness of the market and regulatory factors that affect the industry

Preferred Qualifications:
1. Master's degree and financial services experience
2. Extensive knowledge of the banking industry
3. Detailed understanding of regulatory factors that influence the business

OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS / WORKING CONDITIONS
Visual / Audio / Speaking

Able to access and interpret client information received from the computer and able to hear and speak with individuals in person and on the phone.
Manual Dexterity / Keyboarding
Able to work standard office equipment, including PC keyboard and mouse, copy/fax machines, and printers.
Availability
Able to work all hours scheduled, including overtime as directed by manager/supervisor and required by business need.
Travel
Up to 25%
