Become a Part of the NIKE, Inc. Team

The company looks for people who can grow, think, dream and create. Its culture thrives by embracing diversity and rewarding imagination. The brand seeks achievers, leaders and visionaries. At NIKE, Inc. it's about each person bringing skills and passion to a challenging and constantly evolving game.

NIKE, Inc.'s relentless pursuit of product innovation and sustainable growth demands bold new ways of doing business - including supplier engagement. Stretching far beyond conventional sourcing, Nike Procurement secures the best supplier relationships to drive business success. The team maximizes the value and reach of the company's investments in external resources, including product materials, marketing services, digital tools, temporary labor, high-tech manufacturing equipment and other products and services to fuel business growth and sustainability.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We're looking for a Director, Business Diversity & Inclusion (BD&I), Global Procurement! We need a leader who will play a key role in continuing the development and implementation of global supplier diversity at Nike. Working closely and collaborating frequently with leaders across the organization, this person will need to demonstrate a strong knowledge of core supplier diversity and procurement principles. We need someone who will demonstrate a clear record of implementing and driving an enterprise-wide BD&I program; this means delivering on multiple concurrent priorities/initiatives. Demonstrating this record would come in the form of specific examples (actions) of program growth, increasing diversity spend, and strengthening relationships (internal & external).
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
We have committed to spending $1B with diverse suppliers by 2025; you will be working on this dedication as a cornerstone of your daily activities. Every day, you will focus on three core aspects of the program: fueling demand (growing awareness and interest across the company), driving access and development (finding, promoting, and developing diverse suppliers), and establishing internal structure (policy, procedures, tools, team). Our reach is global, so your focus won't be limited to the United States or North America; you will work on global activities to support the program.

We want you to shape the strategy - what gets done, in what order, and how to maximize the value of diverse suppliers and accelerate program maturity & growth. You will need to maintain strong relationships with external partners (BD&I organizations including certifying bodies), and strengthen internal partnerships. If you thrive on building, transforming, and shaping a supplier diversity program for a global company, this is the role for you. You will roll up your sleeves to get the job done; we're not looking for theorists!
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
In this role, you will report to the Senior Director, Procurement Programs as part of the Global Procurement team and will manage a team responsible for advancing the business diversity and inclusion program globally. In order to be successful, you will need to develop positive relationships with category management and sourcing teams, as well as key business functions. You will be responsible for crafting awareness of the program and the value of diverse suppliers as you build these relationships. You will also work with diverse suppliers directly, both individually and through the Academy; you will be a key liaison to certifying bodies, and will represent Nike at conferences and events in support of the program.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor/Master degree in Business Management, Supply Chain, Operations, Retail, CPG, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Bias for action; you can speak to theory, but understand what it takes to make things happen; you are uncomfortable with the status quo
  • 10+ years of experience with large complex organizations, global experience a plus
  • Knowledge of certifying bodies and how they operate
  • Demonstrated experience in creating, improving, and implementing strategy within procurement and diversity, equity & inclusion
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written; ability to present to an Executive audience
  • Broad understanding of how these initiatives impact Nike, our consumer base, and overall economic structure
