Performio is growing extremely rapidly and looking for a Chief People Officer in the Pacific Time Zone that can help us facilitate this growth and expand our market leadership position. As we seek to scale the company, we’re looking for an experienced leader to build a business orientated human resources organization, and take ownership of our company’s onboarding, training, enablement, development and organization structural planning functions. Reporting to the CEO, Grayson Morris, this role will focus on ensuring that Performio has superior leadership to drive towards our desired business results, by developing a world class people practices to ensure a highly engaged and culturally aligned employee population that thrives during our growth. This position will ensure human resources operations are running smoothly and the long-term strategic human capital goals of the organization are being designed, implemented, and measured.

The right candidate will have extensive experience in scaling a software technology company and established success in meeting an aggressive hiring plan over two to three years. The self-starting entrepreneurial candidate will be driven to excellence in providing the human capital services that will guarantee a highly engaged and performing employee population. The ideal candidate will have a track record of partnering with the Executive Team and ensure each business operation has a plan to hit their long-term business goals. Target candidate must appreciate and enjoy “the build” including the strategy and the lift required to evolve the People Strategy and Executive Team to deliver on aggressive revenue and operating expectations. Must be results orientated with a strength in influencing others and driving process.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Executive Team Leaders to develop a strong Executive Team Cadence and cohesive working framework for success.
  • Experience creating the organizational direction and People Strategy to align the Vision, Mission, and Values/Behaviors throughout the company and drive a high performance culture.
  • Coach and mentor executive team members on the most effective methods for managing their staff and improving performance.
  • Develop a progressive Talent Acquisition Strategy and market approach to attract top industry talent.
  • Define, develop and deploy a system for the ongoing measurement of employee engagement and drive proactive steps to increase employee engagement.
  • Consult on and partner with the Executive Team to constantly refine the organizations structure in the efficient service of the business plan.
  • Build a strong human resources department that manages the high growth with grace and efficiency.
  • Create the business orientated policies and procedures for the human resources function that drive clarity for the managers and employees. Be aggressive in implementing the right systems and processes to drive a high growth talent strategy.
  • Work with the management team to develop detailed human capital plans for their teams.
  • Provide active guidance to the management team members on how human capital strategies can support hitting their business goals including leadership training, cascading goal programs, performance assessment processes and incentive programs.
  • Work with the management team to provide weekly, monthly and quarterly key performance indicator (KPI) reporting for the human resources function. Experience working with the Board of Directors and Compensation Committee is a plus.
  • Create a dynamic onboarding and training process for the enterprise as a whole and for specific high risk organization units. Must have established track record of success onboarding large numbers of employees and success with high performance and retention metrics of those new hires.
  • Consult with Executive Team and business unit leaders on the structure and optimal development of incentive compensation plans
  • Serve as an active member of the management team with a “seat at the table” in the execution of the organization’s overall business plan.

Requirements

General Qualifications:

  • Executive Coaching and Alignment: Seasoned HR Executive who has facilitated and driven alignment across the Executive Team and organizationally. Must have experience coaching and developing Executives including Founders. Strong facilitation and operational excellence process experience in driving business priorities and team decision making.
  • Operations Experience - Portfolio demonstrating at least ten years of operating experience in enterprise technology solutions. Ideal candidate will have experience in technology companies that have a mix of consulting and software solutions.
  • HR Experience - Deep experience working with an Executive team and facilitating their development to lead a high growth organization. Experience with a Private Equity Firm or Venture Capital Groups is a plus. Must have a track record of building a HR Operation from the ground up at the same time as implementing People Strategies at all levels of the organization. Strong emphasis on a Performance Management Culture
  • High Growth Experience –You should have experience working in a high growth environment that requires fast thinking and business aptitude for execution to be successful. Proven success scaling a business from $25M to $100M in 2-4 years is imperative. A combination of larger company in addition to smaller high growth companies is the preferred professional portfolio.
  • Technical Experience – Strong technical competencies and a passionate desire to embrace technology in driving operational efficiencies is key to success. Possess strong business acumen in understanding a business plan including the headcount objectives and how to approach the hiring strategy with speed will be a key contributor to this person’s success. Must understand the software industry and its challenges at scale.
  • Communication – Proven success of implementing a variety of communication platforms and strategies to ensure a dispersed workforce is informed and understands the objectives of the organization. In addition, the ability to embrace the newest platforms of communication that thrive in a technology company to create a culture of inclusion and alignment are required.
  • Organizational Design – Established competencies in helping organizations design their functions to delivery on the business objectives. Proven ability to provide direction on how to constantly evaluate the organization’s structure to enhance overall department and employee performance.
  • Training and Development – Experience aligning roles and responsibilities and translated business expecations into effective and measured training programs. Established ability to develop leaders and provide innovative and effective leadership training curriculum to drive business results.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in executive level human resources roles and facilitating executive alignment and cultural transformation strategies.
  • 10+ years building human resources teams and infrastructure in a high growth environment.
  • Proven ability to scale an organization towards a high performance culture through progressive performance management processes and accountability frameworks
  • Demonstrated experience driving qualified hiring against an aggressive hiring plan.
  • Experience managing and implementing Human Resources technology.
  • Ability to compile an intelligent people strategy that incorporates the company objectives, economic realities, and performance expectations all the while ensuring the culture thrives through a period of high growth.
  • Experience working closely with an Executive Team and building their cadence and coaching them to be successful leaders is required.
  • Excellent business acumen and ability to drive Human Capital Strategies that align with the business plan. Must be able to accurately read financials and understand the significant effort required to reforecast and redesign staffing structures and processes through a period of exceptional growth.
  • A strong sense of confidence and ability to influence others will be critical to assimilate quickly into this highly intelligent and driven workforce.

  • Degree or certification in Human Resources, Learning & Development or related field
