The Global Talent Management team drives the development, alignment, and execution of talent acquisition, learning, leadership development, succession, and analytics. As a data-driven talent function, the Associate Director of Talent Strategy will work across the leaders within Talent Management and senior leaders to shape our most critical talent priorities. The role requires a blend of analytical capabilities, storytelling with data, and strong influencing skills.
Primary responsibilities:

  • The Associate Director, Talent Strategy will manage a portfolio of projects focused on the strategic choices our company faces.
  • Build business cases and articulate talent strategies to address problems leveraging our analytics platforms.
  • Ensure team and senior leader buy-in for strategy and change efforts, including building communications and relationships needed for full support.
  • Proactively drive alignment across a diverse set of stakeholders.
  • Create implementation plans aligned with the business.
  • Manage executive and board communications and presentations.
  • Consult across GTM on talent strategy and assist in articulating the bigger picture to drive change.


Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Advanced degree preferred (MBA, MD, PhD, JD, PharmD, and/or other professional degrees also considered based on experience)


Required Skills:

  • Problem solving: Identify, structure, and solve problems impacting our company and industry. Ensure clear ownership and have a bias to action.
  • Project management: Scope, plan, manage logistics, and ensure execution of complex cross-divisional strategy projects.
  • Ability to identify and make clear connections between various teams and workstreams to enable greater efficiencies and more qualitative outcomes.
  • Stakeholder engagement: Build and maintain working relationships with a variety of stakeholders - coach junior colleagues, partner with peers in a matrix environment, and influence senior leaders.
  • Ability to facilitate meetings at all levels and articulate clear purpose, desired outcomes, and track action items and next steps.
  • Executive communications: Directly author and/ or manage process to create senior executive and Board level strategy presentations and memos. Ability to write crisp communications in multiple formats appropriate for audiences as varied as the C-suite to employees.
  • Ability to work successfully within a matrixed structure across various HR and business functions.
  • Exceptional storytelling with data skills as well as the Powerpoint and advanced Excel skills needed for the role; ability to build a story visually and create a compelling case for change.
  • Knowledge of Workday and as well as effectively communicate through MS Teams, Yammer, etc.
  • Ability to achieve results through ambiguity.


Required Experience:

  • Demonstrated ability to leverage analytics to create novel strategies talent strategy and/or demonstration of very high potential.
  • 5+ years with project leadership in consulting and/ or transformational work.
  • Successful project leadership and problem solving experience in high-visibility roles (e.g., strategy consulting, banking, start-ups, healthcare marketing, general management).
  • Strong understanding of "big picture" of healthcare and biopharmaceutical industry and ability to translate to near-term business opportunities.
