Are you a Systems leader in HR with experience working with HR Business Partners and other organization cross functional teams to identify and look for opportunities to support key HR initiatives, specifically to lead and facilitate implementing a new Workday system within HR? We could really use your expertise!


We are looking for an individual to lead People Systems and Operations and to join our growing People/HR team. As a key part of our broader Total Rewards & People Operations team, this individual will work across the People team to power GRAIL’s growth through people technology, analytics, and insights that enable self-service and scalable people practices.


This position is a people manager role reporting to the Head of Total Rewards and People Systems.

You will:

  • Upgrade our HR systems to facilitate improved decision-making, efficiency, and speed as well as develop a strategy to maintain Workday and our roadmap to implement new features once we are live
  • Lead our Workday implementation project with internal IT project management partners and external partners, as appropriate, within budget and on time to achieve our goals.
  • Communicate updates to the system to key stakeholders and ensure training/materials are provided to support them.
  • Maintain excellent data integrity within HR systems and tools.
  • Ensure we are aligned with SOPs and other related policies and significantly set a higher standard in terms of data, business process, and access security.
  • In close partnership with IT and Finance, develop and implement a three-year HR Technology, data, and analytics strategy and roadmap as well as find opportunities for automation and reduction of manual HR processes and partner with teams.
  • Perform regular data and system audits, and follow up with employees to ensure compliance.
  • Support scaling the organization through HRIS insights, self-service, and company-wide reporting and processes.
  • Build capacity within the HR organization to apply data and analytics to drive decision-making and storytelling. Build resources, dashboards, and training for HR and Recruiting teams.
  • Develop methods to measure the efficiency of all people programs, uncover insights and opportunities

Your background should include:

  • BA/BS degree and at least 8+ years of systems technology/ HR-related work experience in a high growth organization
  • 8+ years of systems technology/ HR-related work experience in a high growth organization
  • Hands-on Workday experience
  • Project/product/program management experience related to the implementation of new platformsUnderstanding of HR, Payroll, Finance, and IT business processes and how they impact HR systems
  • Critical thinker with the ability to develop a long-range vision, multi-year systems roadmap, and innovative solutions
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion, maintaining confidentiality when required
  • Proactively finds opportunities to streamline processes and improve data quality
  • Demonstrated track record of building impactful teams
  • Customer-focused with effective partner management and influencing skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a primary focus on core responsibilities
  • Excellent ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects
  • Self-directed problem solver with a desire to contribute to the Company and team’s success

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of local (CA) and federal HR legislation and best practice
  • Familiarity with Google Suite and Microsoft Office software & documents
  • Experience with DocuSign as admin user
