Objective & Scope
Assist HR Manager with all departmental/Human Resource and related functions. Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of appropriate documentation throughout employment history for all employees. Advises and consults management on employee and Human Resources issues. All aspects involved in Human Resource Management activities.
Responsibilites, Duties & Authorities

  • Assist in the administration of policies and procedures in the area of human resources including: Benefits, Safety and Health, Employee Work Rules and Regulations, Employee Orientation, and Training.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all areas of human resources.
  • Assists in coordination of Company functions, employee relations' activities and training registration.
  • Files and organizes forms and documents, reference materials and assists in maintenance of employment records in accordance with record-keeping guidelines.
  • Responsible for recruiting qualified candidates for open positions and related tasks including conducting new employee orientations and exit interviews, creating postings, conducting interviews, perform reference checks, prepare offer letters etc.
  • Review hourly performance appraisals.
  • Create employee communications including presentations for Employee Meetings.
  • Issue employee disciplines when necessary.
  • Oversee Training for division; scheduling of, maintaining in Training Database on PC Compliance and notifications to employees.
  • Process payroll and benefit related tasks.
  • Complete KMI's as required.
  • Provide guidance to MPTSH employees when appropriate and assist and advise Supervisors\Managers on employee issues.
  • Maintain current knowledge of all related employment legislations.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new programs, Employee Opinion Survey's/ Focus Groups, Wage & Benefits survey, fairness committee and other HR functions/ Action Plans
  • Assist in the maintenance of programs, policies, and procedures in accordance with MPT and MPTSH objectives.
  • Maintain Open Door policy (and follow up on employee concerns)
  • Ensure fair and consistent treatment of all employees.
  • Champion the principles of the Magna Employee Charter.
  • Assists managers/supervisors in dealing with employee issues including investigations and providing advice in managing the progressive disciplinary procedures.
  • Accountable for the maintenance of the internal job posting process.
  • Maintain resume tracking systems for both internal and external applicants.
  • Manage the PeopleNET review system for all salaried employees.
  • Review and Update Job descriptions with management as required.
  • Coordinate and administer employee training and development. Maintain tracking of training.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new programs, Employee Opinion Survey's/Focus Groups, Wage and Benefits Survey and other HR functions/Action plans.
  • Develop and present training programs/material.
  • Responsible for the facilitation of The Fairness Committee.
  • Prepare employee notices, letters, memorandums, and other documents as required.
  • Prepare monthly employee meeting presentations and present as required. Attend all monthly employee meetings.
  • Prepare employee meeting minutes, letters, memorandums, and other documents as required.
  • Attend at Human Resources Department Meetings.
  • Have a daily presence on the shop floor and provide flexible coverage across all shifts when required.
  • Initiate and embrace company change.
  • Responsible for promoting and seeking excellence in all aspects of business. Participates in continuous improvement activities, submits Cost saving improvement suggestions, CIP's.


Education and/or Experiences
Minimum 7-10 years' experience in HR field preferably in a manufacturing/production environment. HR related certification/degree or e quivalent experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook) and Workday. Able to recognize the position as one of a highly trusted and confidential nature. Previous experience in recruitment and selection, training assessment, performance management, employee relations, and compensation and benefit management. Experience with PeopleSoft preferred. Experience with Health & Safety programs. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and prioritize a heavy workload. Professional, friendly and exceptional interpersonal skills (written, verbal, listening). Exceptional organizational skills. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) including ability to understand, speak and write English. Working knowledge of applicable Labor Laws. Demonstrates creativity, initiative, and problem-solving skills. Team oriented work approach. Excellent attendance and performance record. Ability to work with others in a team environment. Self-starter with a positive attitude. Ability to work in a fast paced and sometimes stressful environment.
HIPPA Certification through Magna.
Additional Information
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to create and interpret graphs.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient on the computer, including knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Workday.
Reasoning Skills: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to bend, stoop, kneel, or crouch and lift and/or carry up to 35 pounds. The employee must regularly sit, stand and walk, speak and listen and use a computer. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus.
