Overview:
We are looking for a strong leader to join our TMS team. This person should be a self-starter that has excellent communications skills and brings a proven ability to build trust cross-functionally between Whole Foods Market and our parent company. This person will set high expectations, create and deliver communications that will help the TMS organization continue to adapt and develop best practices that serve both Whole Foods Market and our parent company. This individual will provide leadership and oversight to the TMS Field & Culture Business Partner team, ensuring effective partnership that integrates with and supports business strategies, goals, and objectives.
This position will report to Barb Smith, TMS VP of Field & Culture. This role will ensure Whole Foods Market’s policies and procedures are consistently applied in accordance with our core values. This role will be based in at our Global Office in Austin, Texas.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and design conscious integration of Whole Foods and parent company HR initiatives in partnership with the TMS VP of Field & Culture
  • Accountable for mentoring and developing Team Members and Team Leaders, managing risks, opportunities, and gaps in Business Partner’s strategies, programs, and processes, driving improvement. Lead team of 4-10 direct HRBP reports
  • Develop and implement communication and change management strategies to support team members as they adapt to changes in the workplace that result from organizational changes related to our conscious integration with our parent company
  • Deliver against discrete aspects of the Whole Foods – parent company HR integration project plan
  • Support the development and delivery of TMS programs and solutions that support the company’s continued growth, evolution and integration with our parent company
  • Build and maintain successful partnerships with various Whole Foods and parent company teams, ensuring projects are progressing and delivering desired results on time and within budget
  • Engage with business leaders to identify gaps in understanding, formulate resolution strategies, and deliver clear and compelling communication
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in Human Resources positions including Director-level
  • Experience in performance management, succession planning, recruiting, leadership development, change management, employment law, and employee relations
  • Experience in working cross functionally in driving change across work streams in a position that leads, mentors and coaches other leaders
  • Experience in managing a team comprised of different disciplines
  • Has led complex, confidential projects from idea to execution. M&A a plus
  • Ability to influence change in the presence of ambiguity and a decentralized working environment, including the ability to influence “up” as this position will work closely with executive leadership
  • Strong technical HR, leadership, and team building skills with the ability to balance tactical and strategic responsibilities
  • Able to translate strategic objectives into clear, tangible actions at the local and regional level
  • Excellent judgment, problem solving aptitude, flexibility, creativity, and diplomacy
  • Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface with senior leadership
  • Public speaking experience in HR areas of expertise
  • Leverages data-driven insights to recommend, implement and continuously improve task / project management and delivery methodology
  • Proven experience having executed a roll out of new standardized processes and systems across large organizations
  • Professional HR Certification required (SHRM, PHR, etc.)
  • Professional Development Assessment Certification preferred (MBTI, DiSC, etc.)
  • 4-year degree in Human Resources or related discipline preferred
  • Travel up to 25%
