Purpose and Scope:
The Head of Reporting and Analytics will drive our global reporting and analytics vision. This is at the forefront of transforming how we unlock value from data across R&D and will lead the development of enterprise-grade dashboards, analytics, and performance insights that support smarter, faster decisions in drug development. This role will lead a globally distributed team and make a tangible difference for patients worldwide.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Set and drive the strategic vision for analytics, reporting, and performance measurement across the global R&D portfolio.
- Inspire and lead a high-performing global team of analysts and data specialists (~10 direct reports), cultivating a culture of innovation, agility, and operational excellence.
- Own key enterprise dashboards and decision support tools that inform portfolio planning, clinical operations, and resource management across all R&D functions.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with leaders in Clinical Operations, Finance, Resource Planning, and Data Science to turn complex datasets into actionable insight.
- Establish a single source of truth for key performance indicators (KPIs), metrics, and analytics that align with Astellas’ enterprise and R&D strategies.
- Drive innovation in automation, data visualization (e.g., Qlik, Tableau), and advanced analytics capabilities (e.g., forecasting, scenario modelling).
- Benchmark against industry peers, bringing in best practices from other leading organizations to improve speed, quality, and decision-making.
- Coach and develop the next generation of analytical talent with a global mindset
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in STEM, business, or related field (advanced degree preferred)
- 15+ years in data intelligence, analytics, or business performance
- Proven leadership experience managing global, cross-functional teams
- Deep familiarity with business intelligence tools (e.g., Qlik, Tableau, Power BI) and enterprise platforms (e.g., Dataiku, Snowflake, Veeva, Plainsware)
- Strong understanding of financial planning, KPIs, and portfolio management in complex environments
- Executive presence and ability to influence across all levels of the organization
Preferred:
- Experience in pharma and life sciences, particularly research & development
- Previous work in management consulting, technology, financial services, or other high-precision, data-intensive industries
- Experience working in multicultural global teams
- Location for this position is remote but located within India, Poland, United Kingdom or USA.

Salary Range: $197,400-$310,200 (Final compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skills, experience and organizational equity considerations).
