Boeing Defence Australia are currently recruiting for a Ground Support Equipment Specialist as a part of the Helicopter Aircrew Training System (HATS) program in Nowra, NSW. As a Ground Support Equipment Specialist, you will be responsible for inspection, maintenance, servicing, repair and fault diagnosis of machinery and equipment required to support the EC135 Helicopters.
This is a fulltime temporary position and is expected to end December 2027.
This role will involve the following key responsibilities:
- Manage HATS Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and Tooling.
- Maintain all Support and Test Equipment (STE) IAW the item maintenance policy.
- Manage tool calibration schedules.
- Carry out Tool kit auditing.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on HATS GSE equipment.
- Maintain and manage component and replacement part inventories.
- Maintain a register of the GSE and STE equipment
- Work independently and under limited supervision.
BDA requires all applicants to be able to demonstrate the following criteria:
- Have an aviation or mechanical trade's certification. Ideally a Cert III (minimum).
- Strong computer skills - Microsoft (Excel, access and word).
- High Risk Work Licence (Forklift and Dogging) are desirable.
- Demonstrated knowledge of ERP MRO (cMRO) or equivalent Maintenance Management software applications is desirable.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience utilising asset management software applications is desirable
- Ability to troubleshoot, analyse, inspect, disassemble, rebuild, modify and test factory machinery and equipment as necessary using knowledge in areas such as mechanics, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- Be able to use and interpret advanced blueprints and schematics to maintain and repair equipment. Respond to requests for equipment repair.
- Have knowledge of set up, maintenance, trouble shooting and repair of GSE.
- Have a comprehensive ability to use various hand, power driven and specialty tools.
- Be able to read, understand, and interpret basic engineering drawings and specifications;
- Demonstrated success in the development of effective working relationships within a complex organisational structure to meet team, business unit and organisational goals.
- Demonstrated ability to use initiative, prioritise and work to tight timeframes with limited supervision; and
- Have strong conceptual and analytical skills
