What you’ll do ​& Who you are

You will join the Smart Advertising team, a cross-functional team based in our lovely new Berlin office, developing exciting products to make advertising smarter on Kleinanzeigen and improve the experience for the end user .

You will report directly to the Engineering Manager of the team.

This is a hybrid role, and our office is based in Berlin Charlottenburg.

What you'll do:

• Be part of a friendly, multicultural team, working in an Agile environment

• Write clean, efficient, and reusable code following best practices and coding standards

• Work with the team to constantly evolve our ways of working

• Be an active part of our Engineering community to make sure the discipline keeps advancing throughout the company

• You will build the TS/JS-based technology of online classifieds in a clean, scalable way.

• You will optimize application performance and scalability through efficient code and architecture design.

• You will write concise technical documentation for code, APIs, and system architecture.

• You will ensure code quality and maintainability with software engineering best practices.

• You will be involved in the whole development lifecycle from architecture to QA and deployment.

• You are a believer in teamwork.

Who you are:

• You are fluent in HTML5, CSS3, and TypeScript

• You have 3+ years of experience working with React or Next.js projects - you would call yourself an expert

• You have 3+ years of experience with testing frameworks such as Jest, React Testing Library, and Cypress, and you understand why testing matters

• Experience with responsive design principles and cross-browser compatibility

• You always aim for bringing the best UX possible to our customers

• You have worked in Agile environments before

• Proficiency in browser-based frontend development, with a strong understanding of the Node.js ecosystem and experience integrating APIs like REST and GraphQL.
