Job Description

What You’ll Get to Do:

Develop and maintain cutting edge FPGA designs to support various platforms and applications along with designing new products and processes and improving and maintaining existing products. Communicate with the other engineering personnel to coordinate the interrelated design and assure project completion.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design new products and processes while improving and maintaining existing products
  • Work with software and hardware team members to successfully integrate FPGA designs on new and existing platforms
  • Apply ASIC or FPGA place and route (P&R) tools with various libraries to create physical implementations of designs. Develop and maintain documentation for the P&R design flows
  • Conduct design analysis on components and/or assemblies to assist in the development process by ensuring designs are cost efficient, able to be manufactured, and reliable
  • Integrate new P&R tools, P&R tool updates, and ASIC or FPGA design libraries into Government’s computer aided design environment, documents the use of those tools and libraries
  • Perform the de-processing of electronic components and retrieving stored firmware or software using approved reverse engineering procedures and develops improved procedures
  • Develop novel procedures for reverse engineering of new component types
  • Understand and adhere to all CACI Ethical and Compliance policies
  • Proactively ensure a safe work environment and adhere to CACI EH&S policies and procedures

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Education: Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years FPGA design experience or equivalent combination of skills, education, and experience.

Required Skills:

  • Strong FPGA design skills
  • Expertise in VHDL and/or Verilog
  • Experience with Xilinx Vivado and ISE and/or Intel Quartus
  • Experience with HDE in integrated circuit or microelectronic component design
  • Experience with reverse engineering
  • Ability to read and understand schematics and data sheets
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Effective teamwork skills


A “TS/SCI with Poly” clearance is required to begin employment. For this position, CACI has the ability to provide clearance sponsorship for qualified individuals.

Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$94,400 - $198,300
