Red Ventures is seeking a full-time writer to cover student finance topics for BestColleges.com. We're looking for someone with proven experience dissecting complex finance subject matter into clear and accessible content.

As a student finance writer, you'll cover topics like student loans, financial aid, budgeting, saving, taxes, and credit. You'll be responsible for researching finance topics, interviewing experts and students, and implementing SEO and journalistic best practices in your writing.

We're looking for someone with attention to detail who can handle multiple projects simultaneously. Online writing experience is required, and applicants should be able to communicate and collaborate with editors, designers, publishers, and social media coordinators.

What You'll Do

• Write 2-3 student finance pieces per week.
• Interview experts and students to feature in articles.
• Build and maintain a network of sources.
• Keep up with trends in student finance.
• Pitch creative story ideas and contribute to editorial calendars.
• Fact-check and proof pieces for grammar.

What We're Looking For

• 1-3 years of experience as a writer or freelance writer with experience working with finance topics.
• Familiarity with higher education and student finance topics is a plus.
• A bachelor's degree in journalism, English, finance, or a related field.
• A portfolio of published work.
• In-depth research skills and high attention to detail.
• Familiarity with AP style and journalistic best practices.
• Self-motivated with a track record of success managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
• Familiarity with SEO best practices is a plus.
• Familiarity with WordPress is a plus.
