About the Role:

As VP, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) at AppHarvest you will report to the CFO in a role that is an integral part of the finance, and broader leadership team. You will help us scale for our next phase of growth by driving more analytical rigor in our activities, improving predictability in the business, and ensuring that we are investing in areas that will deliver sustainable growth.

What You’ll Do:

  • Work closely with the CFO and executive team to build and maintain financial models to meet short-term financial goals and develop long-term strategic plans
  • Drive the development and rollout of monthly financial package updates to leadership and BOD
  • Develop and utilize data-driven analytics to generate value-added insights and actionable recommendations to drive growth and influence KPIs
  • Work with department leaders to create annual operating budgets, rolling forecasts, and scenario analyses  
  • Build, develop, and lead a team of high-performing finance professionals to support functional management and teams across the business
  • Identify and implement innovative technologies to scale financial processes that drive and sustain organizational growth
  • Aid in key projects and initiatives to drive process improvement and deliver deeper insights on critical business decisions  
  • Support org-wide finance related questions, needs, and analyses 

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, and/or related field; MBA and/or advanced degree preferred 
  • 10+ years in a corporate FP&A or finance role; 5+ years in a senior FP&A role
  • Experience building, leading, and developing the FP&A function in hyper-growth environments
  • Experience leading financial planning and analysis functions, including annual budgeting, capital budgeting, long-term strategic planning, and resource allocation processes
  • Proficiency in data consolidation tools and helping business groups navigate it  
  • Technically savvy – wizard-level Excel skills ideally with ERP implementation experience
  • A proactive leader committed to the growth and engagement of their teams
  • Collaborative and innovative spirit to partner with department heads on strategic goals
