Job Description
Micron seeks a highly talented Finance expert with ability to earn the confidence and trust of business leaders as a true strategic business partner. The Vice President (VP) of Business Unit Finance is responsible for partnering with the Chief Business Officer to provide support and strategic direction for all Micron business units. S/He leads and participates in financial decision-making processes in business unit and executive meetings. The VP possesses a keen understanding of key performance drivers across business segments and delivers insightful, valuable analysis to the Chief Business Officer (CBO) and team.
The VP, BU Finance provides active leadership on the CBO's leadership team and shares responsibility with the CBO for profit & loss management of the business unit. This includes strategic planning, risk management, financial forecasting & budgeting, portfolio planning and ROI measurement. This individual will work with CBO as well as Finance and Business leadership to ensure appropriate accountability and transparency, with vigilant attention to management of risk, internal financial and operational controls, and protection of assets.
The VP reports directly to the CVP of Corporate Finance and serves as a key member of the financial leadership team
Key Deliverables

  • Proactively drive decisions to ensure long-term profitable growth for the business
  • Drive operational improvements across the BU Finance function including systems, reporting, insights, and personnel management
  • Lead financial planning and analysis including forecasting, reporting and analysis of business unit P&L's, Gross Margin analysis, Product portfolio optimization, and collaboration on R&D investments in support of the product roadmap
  • Partner with leaders within the Business Unit, Supply Chain and Sales organizations to identify, assess and present strategic initiatives
  • Provide timely and insightful analysis and financial modeling to drive value creating business decisions
  • Continually drive alignment and control into the capital investment and spending process
  • Plan, develop, organize, and lead all aspects of financial planning for Business Unit ensuring alignment with Micron's strategic direction
  • Develop and promote key finance talent fostering a positive team environment


Professional Experience

  • 15-20+ years of progressive leadership roles in large, globally diverse, publicly traded companies engaged in highly competitive and rapidly changing market dynamics.
  • Industry Background: 10+ years in semiconductor, technology, or manufacturing sectors.
  • Record of successfully implementing strategic, tactical, and operational plans
  • Extensive practical knowledge and experience in all areas of finance including accounting, financial planning and analysis and business partnering
  • Deep understanding of competitive dynamics and strategies of key industry players, technical and other differentiated capabilities required to win in the marketplace.
  • Global mindset: Has worked in multiple geographies and comfortable with different cultures
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire, motivate, communicate, and drive the organization towards common goals
  • Developed leadership skills in complex, high-energy, fluid environments • Ability to motivate, drive and inspire change
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build meaningful working relationships
  • Able to be both a top-level strategic executive as well as hands-on "roll up your sleeves" leader
  • Thrives in fast-paced operating environments
  • Able to operate with a high sense of urgency over a sustained period and juggle multiple projects
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Detailed oriented and results oriented
  • Absolutely unquestioned ethics/integrity/honesty


Education

  • Master's degree in the field of Business Administration/ Management, Finance, or related field
  • Engineering/Science-related educational background a plus
