The Finance & Accounting team at StockX brings together expertise from some of the world’s top marketplace companies. The team is composed of finance, revenue, accounting, tax, treasury, and payroll professionals committed to making StockX a phenomenal place to work, grow and learn. From FP&A and Payroll to Revenue, and Accounts Payable, the Finance & Accounting team is core to our business and spans around the globe from Detroit and the San Francisco Bay Area, to London and Singapore and many places in between.
About the role
StockX’s Vice President of Investor Relations is a newly created role reporting to the CFO that will lead our corporate investor relations efforts. This is a key leadership position within the Company and will have significant interaction with the CEO, CFO, Leadership Team, StockX Comms team, Sell-side Analysts and Investors. The role will partner closely with the StockX leadership team to develop and direct the appropriate investor relations strategy, framework, and tactics. As a seasoned professional who ideally had a senior IR position(s) at hyper-growth, public marketplace or ecommerce companies, the successful candidate will also be responsible for fostering relationships between StockX and its shareholders, as well as the sell-side and buy-side communities, and will be responsible for managing all aspects of StockX’s investor relations policies, objectives, and initiatives.
While the role can be remote, the preference is to be in the Bay Area, New York, or Detroit. The position will initially be an individual contributor role with no direct reports and will be supported by our current investor relations advisory firm.
What you'll do
- Lead the strategic planning and ongoing development of all investor relations activities that enhance StockX’s image within the investment community
- Manage the relationship with both the sell-side and buy-side, including tracking all correspondence and being the initial point of contact for investors
- Drive the quarterly earnings cycle, including overseeing the development of quarterly earnings materials, financial press releases, investor presentations, shareholder letters, and other relevant materials
- Target a high-quality investor base by effectively communicating the Company's strategy and financial performance to the investment community
- Partner closely with StockX’s Communications team on all messaging and StockX’s Finance team on all financial results, metrics and forecasts
- Develop, maintain, and enhance relationships with stakeholders in the investment community
- Maintain a comprehensive targeting dashboard to track current and prospective investor interest, activity, engagement, and conversion.
- Develop and execute the investor marketing plan across conferences, NDRs, and industry events
- Monitor peers and competitors for benchmarking and competitive intelligence purposes in order to better shape our messaging and business decisions.
- Advise the CEO, CFO, and Leadership Team on financial and industry trends, shareholder concerns, and competitor actions
Experience.
About you
- At least 8 - 12 years of experience in a senior investor relations role and/or capital markets role (i.e., sell-side, buyside, and/or investment banking)
- Relevant industry experience in marketplaces, internet and ecommerce sectors a must
- Demonstrated experience in a senior investor relations role and/or capital markets role (i.e., sell-side, buyside, and/or investment banking)
- Relevant industry experience in marketplaces, internet and ecommerce sectors a must
- Strong track record of establishing and fostering positive relations with the investor community and equity research analysts
- High-level understanding of financial statements and valuation models
- Outstanding interpersonal skills
- Strong writing skills, attention to detail and ability to provide both tactical and strategic support
- Awareness of selective disclosure and materiality issues as they relate to financial reporting and Regulation FD
- Knowledge of SEC disclosure requirements and filings, accounting concepts and financial analysis
- A bachelor's degree is required; MBA and CFA is preferred
