Title: US Payroll Manager

Job Summary:

The Payroll Manager will direct payroll processing-related activities for 1,000+ US employees and work with our third-party partners in support of the overall global payroll and benefits function.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Manage the processing of multi-state bi-weekly payroll via Workday and the processing of other on-demand payments (predominately salaried workers)
  • Prepare, process, calculate and audit bi-weekly, multi-state, full cycle payroll for 1,000+ employees ensuring accuracy, timeliness and compliance
  • Ensure payroll data is reported correctly to federal, state, and local agencies, maintaining compliance of payroll laws
  • Troubleshoot complex payroll issues associated with payroll processing and taxation
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and point of contact for employees with questions about their pay
  • Create period and holiday schedules and maintain from year to year
  • Partner with external vendor to support global mobility for all international Expats
  • Participate in payroll year-end functions to include reconciliation and processing of W-2 and other tax forms
  • Demonstrate continuous efforts to improve operations, streamline work processes and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality teammate support
  • Coordinate with third party partners in the processing of payroll
  • Maintain documented proof of executed controls and audits
  • Contribute payroll-related accounting journals and review payroll-related ledger accounts
  • Work with Accounts Payable in reviewing and approving all payroll-related invoices
  • Develop key payroll-related communication points as needed in conjunction with Corporate Communications to help employees understand their pay as well as any changes
  • Participate in various projects and responsibilities based on the needs of the business


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree - BS/BA in accounting, business, or human resources
  • A minimum of 5 years related experience with medium to large multi-state payrolls (1,000+ employees)
  • Familiarity with Workday preferred
  • Vendor relationship management skills
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to apply critical thinking
  • Full understanding of payroll withholding tax laws, guidelines and requirements
  • Strong working knowledge of Workday Payroll, Time Tracking and Absence
  • Excellent organizational skills and time management skills with a high level of attention to detail
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred
