American Auto Shield is searching for a creative and forward-thinking Technical System Administrator to join a growing accounting team and be a key part of our success in handling the significant growth of the Company. The ideal candidate embraces technology and can navigate effectively inside of financial statements. They also contribute to the Companies efforts to produce consistently accurate data, timely information, and reports. This position will be remote and will join a professional, fun, flexible and casual team.

  • Technical expertise - experience in financial statement preparation and GAAP based methodologies.
  • Service Contracts and / or Insurance industry experience is a huge benefit.

What will you do in this role?
You will...

  • Perform accounting software installation, upgrades, and maintenance.
  • Become the expert in all things inside of our accounting systems ecosystem.
  • Support and train various departments and executives that interact with accounting systems.
  • Software currently in use: QuickBooks Desktop / Online, Bill.com, FloQast, Fathom, WEX, Microsoft Office and Teams.
  • Software for future use: Fyle, SaasAnt, Jira, Hyperwallet, SalesForce - Jive, Cool Leaf, Share Point, Intellimatch and other emerging tools to be determined.
  • Perform problem resolution, isolates, and then works collaboratively with Accounting, FP&A, Data Governance, and IT to determine best solutions.


What will you need to bring to the table to be successful in this role?

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred or substituted with suitable years of experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year of accounting or finance experience.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Work with current support and schedules to create journal entry import templates. Determine additional reporting needs and collaborate with Data Management group to obtain.
  • Maintain financial reporting warehouse (library). Determine and implement best tools to house financial reporting for executive and third-party use.
  • Setup changes, testing and access for various systems.
  • Learn, train and work with software partners on a regular basis.

Job LocationThis role is 100% remote. However, American Auto Shield is only set up to hire employees in certain states. To be considered for this role, you will need to have permanent residence in one of the following states:
