Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, corporate finance, or accounting.
  • Experience writing SQL queries and retrieving data from relational databases.



Preferred qualifications:

  • Comfort and experience using SQL to extract and manipulate data, building reporting dashboards. Skills in programming languages such as R, Python.
  • Financial modeling skills, understanding trends, forecasting revenue, developing insights, turning them into strategies with high impact
  • Communication & partnership skills - this role interacts with senior leaders in Sales and Strategy & Operations teams on a daily basis
  • Excellent quantitative, written, and presentation skills; innovative, organized, thorough. Eagerness to further develop these skills.
  • Impeccable business judgment, with the ability to motivate colleagues and collaborate effectively to help influence senior leadership.

As someone who knows the workings of the core Finance team inside and out, you'll lead individual projects to transform planning, tracking and control processes. You'll provide senior level management with insightful recommendations, planning and reporting support.

Google Customer Solutions (GCS) Ads Finance is the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) partner for GCS, the part of the Global Business Organization (GBO) that services Small- and Medium-sized Business (SMB) advertisers around the globe.

Our work is integral to the strategic decision-making and financial value creation of the business: We identify revenue growth drivers, forecast future performance, provide recommendations on resource allocation, and partner with GCS leadership, Sales & Strategy Operations teams to move the business forward.

As a Channel Sales Strategic Financial Analyst, you will partner with Sales and Revenue Strategy & Operations (RSO) teams to develop global strategic partnerships with large technology companies (e.g., storebuilders, sitebuilders, marketplaces) that enable SMB advertisers to succeed.

In GCS Ads Finance, you'll shape the strategic direction for a multi-billion-dollar business, partner with stakeholders across multiple functions, utilize analytics experience to solve complex business problems, and help millions of SMBs worldwide achieve their goals with Google.

From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

Responsibilities

  • Provide executives (Business and Finance VPs/Managing Directors) with clear insights into drivers of business growth, risks, and opportunities.
  • Analyze Channel Sales partners' growth trends, build business cases for new investments, develop partnership deals that unlock new growth opportunities.
  • Lead decision making on investment strategies for partners, identification of key market drivers for business generation and business profitability, and resource allocation.
  • Analyze financial results and key performance metrics on a periodic basis to support decision making; build and maintain long term financial models to understand the viability of projects, analyze expected returns, and support long term resource allocation.
  • Provide decision support for day-to-day operational decisions and macro level project decisions through financial analysis. Define Key Performance Indicators for the business and own reporting and analysis to track performance.
