What will you do?

As a Post-MBA Associate on the Strategic Finance Team at Sealed, you will report to the Strategic Finance Director.

From the new frontiers of project finance for energy efficiency assets to the fundamentals of traditional FP&A, i.e. annual financial planning, monthly rolling forecasts, management reporting, and detailed operational review sessions, the overarching goal of the Strategic Finance team is to improve the transparency and understanding of the underlying economics and financial health of our business and to enable more effective business performance management. 

As a member of the Strategic Finance team, you will:

  • Build, maintain, and update the company-wide operating model on a monthly and quarterly basis 
  • Forecast, report, analyze, and explain the financial performance of Sealed and related special purposes entities
  • Identify, assess, define and codify the financial and operating metrics that effectively explain business performance and proactively identify and communicate business trends, anomalies and potential inefficiencies that appear in these metrics
  • Proactively work to improve forecasting and reporting processes, effectively balancing the trade-off of accuracy, materiality and effort for both the team and other stakeholders, including project finance lenders  
  • Develop standard and ad hoc financial models and analysis in support of key business questions and decision-making processes, including product pricing, project financing, and new product development
Requirements
  • Strong desire to work in climate tech
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in related field (investment banking, strategic corporate finance, structured finance, private equity/venture capital, management consulting, and/or equivalent) OR  3+ years of progressive experience and MBA from top-tier program
  • Expert in Excel, with significant experience creating dynamic 3-statement financial models for companies that are highly levered or use off-balance sheet financing as a core part of their business model (mandatory)
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively collect, manage, analyze and extract key insights from quantitative data
  • Demonstrated ability to influence business decisions through logical reasoning
  • Proven ability to quickly learn and become an expert in new software tools
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Solid understanding of key accounting concepts and standards
  • You want to work in a fast-paced environment with constant change
  • You are resourceful and not afraid to roll up your sleeves
  • You are comfortable with ambiguity and will drive projects forward with accountability and ownership
