About the Role

We are looking for a Staff Analyst to work with the Capital Accounting team in the Real Estate Accounting function. This is a cross functional role that will work with other departments within the Gap Inc. organization. The primary function of this position is to support the operational and accounting processes related to Project Costing for Real Estate, Distribution Centers and Facilities construction projects, as well as Gap Tech technology initiatives. Additionally, will assist in the creation and management of total company Fixed Assets.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare and post Project Costing and General Ledger entries to support construction and technology cost management, including: Purchase Order accruals, cost and labor allocations, intercompany, and other miscellaneous entries as needed
  • Generate assets to clear the Construction in Progress (CIP) and Asset Clearing accounts and ensure all capital costs are accounted for timely
  • Support Senior Analysts in processing of Fixed Asset retirements and accelerations
  • Prepare timely and accurate reconciliations of capital accrual and freight General Ledger accounts, including the resolution of variances
  • Assist with SOX compliance such as maintaining proper documentation to support audit activities, test support and remediation of control deficiencies
  • Prepare quarterly and annual PBC (Prepared by Client) audit requests as needed
  • Responsible for actively communicating to team and management when issues arise to ensure timely resolution
  • Support system projects and testing
  • Special projects and assignments as needed



Who You Are

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent
  • Previous professional role(s) in Finance and Accounting
  • Intermediate MS Excel and MS Outlook skills
  • Able to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Capable of trouble shooting problems and offering possible solutions
  • Clear and timely communicator with internal and external business partners
  • Collaborative within a team environment
  • Detail-oriented and able to exhibit strong organizational skills
