We are looking for an outgoing, motivated, hands-on Staff Accountant to support the Company's Accounting function. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for a broad range of transactional, reconciliation and other accounting activities. Functions include accounts payable processing, account reconciliations, as well as maintaining accounting policies and procedures that ensure the highest level of efficiency while following appropriate internal controls and compliance with US GAAP. This role is an integral part of the finance team and will report to the Accounting Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Process all accounts payable transactions including corporate credit card reconciliations.
  • Set up new vendors in accounting software according to 1099 guidelines; maintains vendor files and sets up new files as needed.
  • Process vendor invoices by matching to POs or obtaining departmental approval and reconcile monthly vendor statements.
  • Record prepaid expenses, fixed asset depreciation, and other accurate monthly journal entries and accompanying reconciliations.
  • Manage positive business relationships with customers, vendors, and other outside parties.
  • Review cost center classifications to ensure proper coding.
  • Manage workload to adhere to the corporate close calendar.
  • Support with various audits (financial statements, bank, external) and tax compliance (1099s) as needed.
  • Seek opportunities to standardize and automate processes to gain efficiencies.


Experience:

  • Minimum 2+ year of accounting experience, preferably high growth SaaS environments and/or public accounting environments.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required.
  • Accounts Payable and Balance Sheet reconciliation experience.
  • Must have excellent knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (US GAAP).
  • Experience with Financial Force, or similar accounting systems; expense reporting software (Nexonia) and Salesforce a plus.
  • Must have solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with advanced Excel skills required, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP's.
  • The successful candidate will have a "roll-up-the-sleeves" attitude, be able to multi-task and be ready to thrive in a very fast-paced startup environment.
  • Proven ability to meet changing deadlines and priorities on multiple simultaneous projects, along with "wearing multiple hats".
  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently as a self-starter and problem-solver with minimum direction, while being a good team player.
  • Strong sense of business ethics, integrity and discretion.
  • Self-motivated individual with the ability to problem solve and work independently with a minimum level of supervision.
  • Effective and decisive under pressure and operating with a sense of urgency.
