Staff Accountant - Revenue
Summary
As the Accountant - Revenue Accounting for this business, this role is a general ledger accounting team member and will perform revenue accounting for the VGT business based out of Las Vegas. Additionally, this role works directly and indirectly with various teams, including AR, Sales, Finance, Licensing, and Tax, to ensure revenue recognition is accurate and complete for leased EGMs, Game Sales, and contra-revenue items. This role is positioned in Aristocrat's head-quarters for its America's land-based gaming business. It is a part of the Global Shared Services team whose vision is to provide superior service experiences to our customers and employees to support scalable business growth.
What you'll do

• Preparation of general ledger entries for revenue accruals, contra-revenue expenses, and other assets, liabilities, and accruals
• Responsible for ensuring revenue transactions are posted and recorded correctly from the AR sub-ledger.
• Performing balance sheet reconciliations
• Ensuring robust internal controls are consistently applied
• Identifies process improvements

• Assists in providing balance sheet quarterly forecasts and annual plan

• Advises stakeholders on accounting impacts of transactions
• Work with AR and Sales team to ensure proper revenue recognition
• Supports monthly P&L reviews with department heads

• Supporting the external audit requirements
• Providing assistance to any internal audits for VGT

• Regulatory reporting as required

What we're looking for

• 4 year degree in business, accounting, finance or related field with equivalent experience.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in a finance function, preferably with experience of a revenue accounting close and performing balance sheet reconciliations.
• Worked in an ERP (Great Plains is an advantage) environment and familiar with Blackline.
• Have identified change initiatives to deliver process improvements and efficiency.
