Staff Accountant – Revenue at Aristocrat (Las Vegas, NV)
Prepares general ledger entries for revenue accruals, contra-revenue expenses, and other assets and liabilities and accruals
Responsible for ensuring revenue transactions are recorded correctly and posted from the AR sub-ledger.
Performs balance sheet reconciliations
Ensures robust internal controls are consistently applied
Identifies opportunity for process improvements
Assists in providing balance sheet quarterly forecasts and annual plan
Advises stakeholders on accounting impacts of transactions
Works with AR and Sales team to ensure proper revenue recognition
Supports monthly P&L reviews with Commercial Finance and relevant departments
Supports the external audit requirements
Provides assistance to any internal audits for Class II
Completes regulatory reporting as required
BA/BS in business, accounting, finance, or related field with equivalent experience
Understanding and practice of accounting principles
Expertise of end-to-end processes with a process driven mindset
Excellent verbal and written communication skills – candidate will facilitate presentations and coordinate with stakeholders
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Adaptable to changing priorities
Detail oriented- must produce accurate work within restricted timeframes, respond to inquiries in a timely manner, and effectively manage workload/calendar
Detailed understanding of the importance of a robust control environment
A minimum of 1 year of experience in a finance function, preferably with experience in a revenue accounting close and performing balance sheet reconciliations
Worked in an ERP (Great Plains and D365 is an advantage) environment and familiar with Blackline.
Have identified change initiatives to deliver process improvements and efficiency
