Job Purpose

We are looking for a Revenue Accountant who thrives in a fast-paced environment. We look forward to welcoming a candidate who can iterate on current processes and who would enjoy leaning in with their accounting expertise. We treat each team member as a founder here at MX. The ideal candidate for this role is driven, a creative builder, passionate and has proven accounting skills specifically with revenue and close processes.

What you'll get to do

• Analyzes revenue accounts to ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Review and analyze sales contracts for unique accounting treatments
• Prepare monthly revenue account reconciliations
• Assists with audit requests
• Prepares and posts all revenue journal entries, recurring and nonrecurring.
• Completes month-end closure reports.
• Flexibly pursue ad hoc reports as needed
• Cross-functional coordination to improve processes
• Create data visualization and analysis for Revenue reporting
• Process documentation and improvement recommendations
• Works in typical office conditions; read from and enters data into a computer

You'll do it using your

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent work experience
• Experience with revenue recognition principles
• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Strong knowledge of ASC 606 and ASC 605
• Proficiency in Excel
• Ability to apply several accounting and reporting systems
• Technical accounting research experience
• Strong ability to work individually or in a team setting
• Ability to give attention to detail and balance multiple projects/timelines
