The Senior Payroll Analyst is accountable for ensuring the timely and correct processing and administration of payroll expenses and taxes. As the organization is grows, this role will play a critical part in improving and optimizing our payroll processes, while ensuring quality, accuracy, and compliance remain at the forefront of delivery.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
The Senior Payroll Analyst job description is intended to point out major responsibilities within the role, but it is not limited to these items.

1.    Prepare and process bi-weekly payroll for over 2,000 employees; Review and ensure accuracy of approved timesheets
2.    Ensure all people transactions, such as new hires, terminations, benefit changes and QLEs, garnishments, relocation payments, incentive payments, severance, leave program benefits and payments, employee master information changes, etc. are processed accurately and timely
3.    Coordinate efforts between human resources, finance and other departments to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data (including preparation/distribution of detailed reports, e.g. overtime, leave balances, headcount, and retirement contribution reports)
4.    Maintain people operations by reviewing changes for proper authorization and adherence to Bright’s policies including compliance with federal/state/local regulations
5.    Ensure the accuracy of ADP tax filings, including form 941 and state requirements
6.    Provide phenomenal employee experiences as the primary contact for benefit and leave programs, and secondary contact for onboarding and payroll information/questions/requests
7.    Manage and reconcile vendor invoices
8.    Assess the current people operations processes and make recommendations to improve; Provide guidance and define best practices for integrating employees from mergers & acquisitions

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
•    Associate Degree in Business Administration/Finance required, Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred
•    Five (5) or more years in a Payroll Office performing all payroll functions, including in a multi-state and publicly traded company environment
•    Three (3) or more years experience in fast-paced, high growth work environment highly desired
•    Master or Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including vlookups and pivot tables
•    Experience processing payroll using Workday strongly preferred 

PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES
•    Strong organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure
•    Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines
•    Strong skills using and understanding the flow of transactions in an integrated and automated payroll accounting system
•    Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion
•    Excellent problem solving/judgment skills, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy
•    Demonstrated attention to detail through strong delivery of quality work
•    Comfort in working in ambiguous, fast paced, growing organizations
•    Previous experience integrating newly acquired companies
•    Highly collaborative with outstanding communication skills, both written and oral
•    Exceptional problem-solving skills while remaining calm and customer-focused

LICENSURES AND CERTIFICATIONS
•    Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or other Payroll designation is preferred

  • This is a remote position. There is also a hybrid option in Bloomington, MN : 8000 Norman Center Drive Minneapolis, MN 55437
