About this opportunity

This position is a strategic member of the Corporate Revenue Accounting organization, responsible for ensuring revenue generated in the Clear Aligner business segment is recorded according to corporate revenue policy and procedures and US GAAP. This is a permanent, full-time position that reports to the Director, Clear Aligner Revenue Accounting Operations.

In this role, you will manage a team of revenue analysts and managers. You will leverage your ASC606 technical and operational revenue accounting background to meet corporate close deadlines, manage the quarterly estimates process, support new product introductions and expansions into new markets, and provide key analytics and insights for quarterly revenue flux analyses.

The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team of motivated revenue professionals, be an educator to others on revenue processes, policies, systems and accounting requirements and work with cross-functional teams in a global organization.

In this role, you will

  • Manage a team of revenue professionals and be responsible for all revenue accounting aspects of the Clear Aligner business including month-end close, review of journal entries and GL account reconciliations, flux and trended revenue analyses, and timely preparation of financial reporting deliverables
  • Manage the quarterly estimates process that determines deferral and revenue recognition rates used in accounting for future deliverables. This includes calculation of usage rates and presentation for review with finance and accounting senior management, review of key inputs and the operational calculation of deferral and revenue recognition rates, performing analytic reviews of actuals versus estimates, and partnering with regional finance teams and corporate FP&A to support forecast and guidance activities
  • Ensure the integrity of key transactional processes by understanding systems, flow of transactions, internal controls and provide recommendations to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Lead and manage SOX compliance for the Clear Aligner revenue segment. Coordinate with Internal Audit to ensure compliance with key control requirements, educate and communicate changes, manage activities for annual process walk-throughs, and assist in key control design as operations evolve
  • Help define revenue accounting requirements on initiatives involving new product and market launches
  • Assist the Director of Technical Revenue Accounting as needed in review of customer contracts and promotions for proper revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606 guidance and company policy
  • Key contact with external auditors to manage Clear Aligner portion of quarterly and annual audit reviews
  • Develop cross-functional relationships with Corporate Accounting, Corporate FP&A, IT, Commercial Finance, and Global Finance teams for revenue-related topics
  • Develop and help train new Revenue and Finance team members regarding Clear Aligner accounting methodology



In this role, you'll need

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience (5+ in people manager roles) - preferably a mix of Big 4 accounting firm experience and public companies with multiple, complex revenue streams in a high-growth environment
  • In-depth knowledge of and experience in applying ASC 606 guidance
  • SAP, or other large ERP system, experience
  • Medium to advanced Excel skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Licensed CPA preferred
