A little about the role:

The Senior FP&A Analyst is an important business partner to the SeaSpine leadership team. This position provides global financial support, management reporting, and analytics for the SeaSpine business, with a focus on budgeting and Sales, gross margin, and operating expense reporting.

Key deliverables include Daily Revenue Reporting, and period/quarterly revenue, gross margin and operating expense analytics against budget/forecast, and supplementary project spend analysis for marketing and development projects. Candidate should be able to create, produce, and analyze these deliverables to provide focused, value-added insights to senior management on key variances, drivers, and other areas critical to run the business.

Budget responsibilities will include planning and executing the annual budgets, strategic plans, and quarterly forecasts; entering, analyzing and consolidating the annual budget, strategic plan and quarterly forecast data; and maintaining the budget/management reporting information system data (Hyperion).

Additional responsibilities include developing and maintaining reporting within Hyperion, assisting the Accounting team in the month-end accrual process, developing financial models, creating investor relations presentations, and other financial reports.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Develop effective partnerships with senior management, department heads, and key stakeholders to understand their analytical and reporting requirements to support and add value to the business
  • Work with functional area leaders and department managers to input, review and revise revenue and expense budget data for the annual budget and quarterly forecasts and input this information into Hyperion/ePBCS
  • Consolidate, analyze and report quarter-to-date budget/forecast versus actual revenues, gross margin and operating expenses and update latest estimates for the current period against those quarterly and annual budgets
  • Develop and maintain capital expense forecasting, budgeting, tracking, and reporting
  • Develop Monthly Business Review presentations for executive management with robust commentary
  • Develop, maintain, and prepare daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting and/or analyses to include Daily Sales Reporting, Weekly Marketing Updates, Fx Analysis, Price/Volume/Mix, etc
  • Develop and maintain forecasting, budgeting, reporting, and ad hoc analytics for operations including, but not limited to:
    • Scrap of inventory and instruments
    • Inventory and instrument, including excess and obsolete analytics
    • Third party logistic warehouse fees
    • Purchase price variances and associated savings split between replenishment orders and CAPEX
    • Tracking of CAPEX set builds to budget
    • Incoming and outgoing freight charges
  • Develop and provide monthly and quarterly financial reporting (KPIs, scorecards, etc.) and provide supporting commentary for key drivers of variances
  • Provide key analysis for the monthly financial close, which may include preparing journal entries for accruals, reclassifications, etc.
  • Support the procure-to-pay process through issue resolution by working closely with Supply Chain, Operations, Quality, and Accounting while maintaining compliance of each department
  • Identify and improve operational inefficiencies within current processes to enhance overall group effectiveness
  • Create new reports utilizing Oracle, Cognos, and other supporting systems as needed
  • Prepare ad hoc analyses as needed and/or other duties as assigned
  • Maximize the utility of reports by highlighting critical data points and providing value-added analytical commentary on those relevant data points



Who you are:

  • Bachelor's degree is required. It is preferred that the degree is in Finance and/or Accounting.
  • 4-6 years of relevant experience including financial planning and analysis and/or budgeting.
  • Strong Hyperion background, Excel skills, Oracle R12, and financial modeling expertise
  • Detail oriented and strong interpersonal skills with an ability to interact with all levels in the organization.
  • Aptitude for continuous improvement
  • Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
