Location:   Position is remote, Houston TX area is preferred however will accept strong candidates based in the US

Travel:   Less than 25% travel to Montreal, California, Virginia, or New York, as needed

Manages Others:  Yes, currently 1 direct report

Education:   Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required, MBA preferred

Experience:   7-10 years minimum experience in an FP&A role with responsibilities including management of the planning process; 3 years management experience is required 

The Opportunity:

The Finance team at BusPatrol is responsible for driving Accounting, FP&A, Treasury, and Finance Operations across the organization. The team is integral to BusPatrol’s core operations, from maintaining internal control processes to financial reporting across multiple entities. We are a data-driven firm, and leverage financial metrics generated to drive strategic decision making across all functions. The FP&A – Treasury – Sr. Director is a key, critical role, the selected candidate will have the opportunity to build an FP&A function from the ground up. This position will be responsible for building a best-in-class FP&A function, while also delivering on key components of research and analysis of financial information, writing reports, monitoring financial movements and delivering insights, and data to BusPatrol Senior Leadership Team.

Reporting to the CFO, this position will manage and oversee all elements of Financial Planning and Analysis and Treasury. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Development of annual operating plan and coordination and management of the entire planning process, including long range planning, across the company
  • Monthly and Quarterly forecasting and communication of performance expectations to executive management and board
  • Development of and execution of management and Board Reporting and Analysis
  • Financial modeling for business opportunities and projects
  • Departmental costing and variance analysis
  • Capital planning and analysis and forecasting, supporting the company’s evaluation of key investment opportunities
  • Working with data analytics and operations, develop key management dashboards
  • Build/select/manage key systems and processes for ongoing planning and reporting
  • Working with Accounting team, manage cash flow and develop robust cash flow forecasts
  • Working with CFO and Board, assess capital needs/structure/capital allocation
  • Maintain key banking/lending relationships
  • Debt compliance

Key Requirements

  • Strong analytical and modeling skills and strong proficiency in Excel (understanding key drivers of revenues and costs)
  • Minimum 7-10 years total relevant experience in an FP&A role, with responsibilities including management of planning process
  • 3 years in a management position
  • Treasury experience preferred, however not required
  • Knowledge of planning systems is required; planning system management/implementation experience a strong plus
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Process improvement experience
  • Working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Well-developed analytical, problem-solving, detail oriented and priority management skills
  • Experience working in a public company environment preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, ability at effective listening and convey information to others concisely
