ABOUT THE ROLE

Happy Money is searching for an experienced and passionate Sr. Director of Finance to lead our talented team at a hypergrowth, venture-backed, fintech company. As Happy Money’s Sr. Director of Finance, you will lead humbly and strategically, driving execution toward our vision to create tools and services for human happiness. You and your small team will be driving insightful analysis, models, and recommendations for the team to make the best strategic and tactical decisions. 


You will report directly to our Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and be responsible for leading financing planning, forecasting, reporting, analysis, and investor relations.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Own and drive all financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and analysis for the existing business, including explanation of variances to projections, and cash flow analysis for actuals and forward-looking needs
  • Lead the tracking, measurement, and trend analyses for existing unit economics, P&L margin efficiency, and financial KPIs to inform the executive leadership team (ELT) with insights to navigate the business
  • Partner closely with Corporate Accounting through the analysis of monthly actuals, execution of the planning process, and capturing key business changes subsequent to Accounting’s department actuals review
  • Continue to grow the strong partnership between Finance and the People & Culture (P&C) team through headcount planning, analyses of deltas to plan and forecast, and capturing of changes to the organizational structure and compensation plan; ensure global changes are aligned between Accounting, P&C, and Finance
  • Partner with the ELT and Design team to successfully execute the timely delivery of the Quarterly Board package, quarterly shareholder letter, ELT monthly business review (MBR), and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) monthly one-pager
  • Lead framework development and maintenance of consolidated financial models, dashboards, and databases; collaborate closely with IT and Corporate Accounting to determine the appropriate time for onboarding financial tools as the company continues to evolve in product offerings and processes
  • Support the CFO with investor inquiries and capital raise opportunities through financial due diligence, data room management, and drafting of investor presentation materials
  • Coordinate with the Corporate Strategy team to ensure the successful financial integration of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) transactions and greenfield initiatives; ensure the inclusion of approved net-new initiatives into Happy Money’s financial models and subsequent forecasting processes
  • Work closely with the CFO and Controller on M&A financial due diligence workstreams, and post-transaction integration and reporting
  • Be an amazing partner to the business stakeholders, cultivating strong relationships across the organization
  • Contribute to the continued growth of a world-class Accounting and Finance function through career development opportunities for the team and mentoring of junior team members across the organization

ABOUT YOU

  • You have 12+ years of tech or fintech experience in financial planning & analysis (FP&A) or corporate finance
  • Combination of experience in a public company and growth-stage venture-backed organization are ideal
  • You are comfortable leading a team, but also able to roll up your sleeves and dive into existing models or develop new models
  • You have a strong fundamental understanding of finance and can efficiently produce models to reflect your intended financial projections
  • You are exceptionally good with mathematics and possess keen analytical skills
  • You are a rapid and eager learner with a strong command of details
  • You have the ability to communicate clearly and articulately in writing and when presenting
  • You are a strong collaborator, working up, down, and across the organization
  • You can simplify the complex and translate that to others
  • You are comfortable managing large amounts of data
  • You are able to work with existing systems and also detach to improve the system
  • You are resourceful and have a strong ability to navigate an organization to get the information you need and to solve very complex problems, with limited direction and oversight
  • You are comfortable working under pressure and managing your time effectively to adhere to deadlines
  • You take responsibility for the quality of work that you deliver
