What you get to do in this role:

  • Manage the close, technical accounting matters and SEC reporting calendar to comply with filing deadlines.
  • Oversee the preparation of all SEC filings and disclosures, including reports on Form 10K, Form 10Q, Form 8K, and the Annual Proxy and review the XBRL tagging process for quarterly and annual SEC filings.
  • Develop, review and maintain accounting policies, ensuring compliance with appropriate US GAAP standards
  • Lead process optimization and automation efforts to improve efficiency and effectiveness on a continuous basis through various techniques using advance technology
  • Set strategic direction for the development and deployment to operationally transform and scale the accounting functions using advanced technologies, automation, and analytics. Effectively drive process transformation while proactively upskill and reskill the team to succeed in the future of Finance while ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, local accounting standards, and the regulatory environment, thereby mitigating risk for the company.
  • Deliver business insights and perform control monitoring of the financial statements through use of analytics.
  • Provide leadership and direct oversight to the US accounting team and indirectly to the international accounting team. Lead and manage a team of direct reports, driving performance by setting goals and development plans and fostering an environment to achieve those goals, through ongoing feedback and conducting performance reviews.
  • Lead and/or actively participate in company/business initiatives and projects, including operationalizing the accounting for new transactions, implementation of new accounting standards, and be a key agent or leader in the implementation of business and accounting systems
  • Coordinate and work with external auditors and manage audit requests to drive timely completion of quarterly reviews and annual audits
  • Develop a culture of mentorship, continuous improvement, training, and success in the accounting organization. Attract, develop, motivate, and manage a high-performance and high-potential team.
  • Ability to work effectively across time zones/geographies with key stakeholders. Experience of working in a matrixed organization
  • A working knowledge of SAP is a must and ability to build
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Great interpersonal skills and demonstrate a proven record of being an effective part of a team-oriented staff

To be successful in this role you have:

  • A professional qualification such as CPA and strong knowledge of US
  • Successful stints with big 4 accounting firms
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills with critical thinking capabilities
  • 15+ years of strong accounting experience with a combination of public accounting and industry experience
  • Ability to work effectively across time zones/geographies with key stakeholders. Experience working in a matrixed organization
  • Person who can challenge the status quo and can drive change
  • A working knowledge of SAP would be a plus
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Great interpersonal skills and demonstrate a proven record of being an effective part of a team-oriented staff
  • Experience in advanced technology such as RPA, AI/ML, NLP would be a plus
  • Ability to multitask, work under pressure and meet the deadlines in a fast-paced environment without losing accuracy
  • Eagerness to learn and willingness to take on new challenges
  • Ability to execute, and proactively follow up
  • Ambition, and a strong desire for professional development
  • Ability to attract, develop, re-skill, motivate, and manage a high-performance and high-potential team and to progress towards the future Finance competencies.
